I don't like the idea of not standing for the anthem.

I completely understand the message they are trying to get across and I agree with it. I just feel that they could use another method of getting it across other than disrespecting our National Flag :(

If you don't want to respect our flag and what it stands for, get out of our country. It's simple as that.

You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth.+ 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them,*+ because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion,*+ bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon

How does one think their prayers would be answered or claim they love and care for God when one cant say HIS HOLY name?

We enjoy being called by our personal name, would the TRUE God be any different when man is made in HIS image?

It says plenty of them when they know what it is...but still dont use it.Even Paharoah said to Moses, who is Jehovah i should let his people go?

He found out the hard way as many in this satanic world wil too.

I watch football for the game and entertainment not politics. These athletes were hired to play football and entertain viewers. I have never seen anything in any of the sports rules that indicates that professional sports are to be a venue for politics. What they do off the field or after the game, sans domestic violence/crime, is up to them. Why don't they emulate someone like JJ Watts that has been a pillar of society in helping charities (even contributing his own money). Watt doesn't take a knee for his charities or draw attention to himself. Would it be that difficult for the over privileged million dollar babies to proactively get their point across? The first athlete to do this started after two years of lackluster sport statistics for which many believe is the foundation for his sudden concern for the downtrodden.

I agree with your answer. I don't like the disrespect, but we do have to respect people's right to protest.  :peace:

However, I don't think it's appropriate on a sports venue where people are tuning in to be entertained by the sport and the players.

Do any of you honestly think if Jesus was a man on earth today he would stand for the flag.LOL!

Silly question to those that knew what he said to Pilate.MY kingdom is NO part of this world!!But he also wouldnt disrespect it,pay his taxes,be kind to others,be law abiding and obey HIS father who is only one who deserves to be worshipped because we exist because of Jehovah!

Yet most of you support Jesus.....i think?Again NO WAY would he stand or bow down to an image. But he wouldnt dis-respect it in a neutral way.I also remind you when Jesus was offered all the kingdoms of world by Satan who asked for him to worship him what he told him and why and who is GOD and should only get that glory!!

EX....i have been to Yankee games and right before they play the anthem i go quietly to the mens room NOT to draw attn to myself for being neutral.Maybe Kaepernack should have stayed in locker room...butg then again maybe he wanted to be seen......Not sure that was smart!!But i dont fault him either and i didnt root for him as a player either.

*Sigh* We've gone over this 1,000 times hitch (but since I need to make 30 posts, I'll educate you again). Standing for the flag is NOT worshiping a "graven image". No one is praying to they flag, worshiping the flag or anything else of that nature. It is a symbol of RESPECT to the people who laid down their lives for our freedom, both in the days of our founding fathers right up to the folks in the armed forces today. They gave their all so these balloon heads can exercise their freedom to act ignorant.

And as I think I told you before, good luck refusing to stand up before the judge if you're ever called to court. I'm sure your explanation of refusing to rise as a show of respect would not go over too well with Hizzona.

JJ...your memory is slipping.I answered you RE standing before a judge.A judge is supposed to represent God.Standing is fine. Its only if a judges ruling would compromise Gods. Then as Peter said,we must obey God as ruler.I also remind you there are books in the bible called Judges.Maybe you should have a look.

I also ask you to remember what the 3 Hebrews did in Nebuchanezzers time when they refused to worship his idols.

The flag represents Satans government...NOT Gods kingdom.I also said you are NOT dis-respecting it by NOT standing. You dont have to make a spectacle of it.

You never answered me RE if Jesus would stand b4 it!!Why dont you?

And lemme tell you something else.If you think i am going to praise the flag for the lives lost in all of these JOKE of a wars....dont insult me.I feel for the familys and loved ones that lost their lives in these ridiculous wars. What a true waste in the whole world. But the bible message the whole world lies in power of wicked one means nothing to you.You think ur gonna die and go to heaven.LOL!!

For God to have any part of what mankind and Satan have created on earth here....who would even wanna serve a God such as that. You are reminded what Jesus really said and what his father said too cos Jesus represented HIM.

Educate me????You cant serve 2 masters..remember that. You really make me laugh. You put bible scripture up here and dont have a clue.

And also BTW......i dont try to earn $$$ from FC anymore...i dont like some of their rules as in part of the earnings must be not from bonuses and u have to earn a nickle to get the 15 cents daily stuff.Plus as u know theres no rollover. But i do enjoy the forum.Point being my posts have nothing to do with myself getting 30 of them.I am sure you can tell month to month on that. You dont have to waste your time with answering me to get 30 posts.I am not trying to convince you of your foolishness!

This might help u understand JJ.

I have no problem bowing my head in prayer and asking God to remember those acting in ignorance for the so-called Bozos of this country in the resurrection. They acted blind as the apostle Paul did too when he thought he was doing right killing others in Gods name until Jesus humbled and blinded him.

Ali refused the draft. He said he had nothing against the N Vietnamese.Jesus went 1 step furthur,he rebuked Peter for protecting him and said they dont know what they r doing when they killed him.

I have nothing against protecting my family if we get mugged on the street....but the bozos have blinded the minds of this world with nationalism etc. Many have died without knowing why.

And youuuuu.....on a command Jesus gave to keep doing this in rememberance of him after he dismissed Judas on a night he knew he would suffer and die......Passover is known every year precisely for that reason...and u worry what the bozos have drilled into your skull rather then obey HIS command!

Why dont u go take a look and see what is happening in Russia with Gods people. And bow your head and ask God to help them with what they r going thru all because they are followers of Jesus and doing Gods will.Rather then worry about appeasing the bozos of this godless world!

You and CountryGirl woulda made good baseball managers. You both like to "Hit N Run"!

I love watching football regardless of the protest.  I think it is their American right to protest whether I liked it or not!

I actually don't see why people are so mad about this.  I don't see it as a sign of disrespect.  To me, disrespect would be talking with someone, playing on their phone, or just messing around while the anthem is playing.  Whether they stand, sit, or kneel, I think it's showing respect as long as they pay attention as the anthem is played.
