how broke are you?
« on: September 20, 2009, 09:59:54 pm »
Is anyone else so broke that you have to have yard sales to make ends meet.  You fill out surveys until 3 in the morning.  You are looking for a plasma bank that pays the most.  You are so sick of Top Ramen that your trying new recipes with it.  You are pissed that Brittney Spears made a come back and has more money than you.  You haven't have new clothes in years.  You try and figure out which bills are more important to pay this month.  And last but not least you've thought about getting a night "gig" to make some extra dough?  To far?

well marieelissa I think you took my message wrong.  I am that person I was describing.  I was simply looking for some compassion from other people who are in my same financial place.  It helps me get through the day to know I'm not the only one struggling and together we can pick ourselves up and get through other day.  You think I drive a new car?  Please I had to sell all my belongings and move down south with my newborn who now doesn't get to see her family because we wanted more for her and there was a "hope" for a job here.  I have been struggling to make ends meet buy all the ways I described in my last post.  But by making light of the situation or a joke helps it not hurt so much.  I am the less fortunate and would never "look down" on any one in a position that they never thought they would be in.  So tell me this what did I do that was so bad that I deserve this life I'm stuck in now?  What goes around comes around?  Well than things should be looking up soon.  Because I know that I'm a good person and I'll do whatever it takes for my family and myself to be happy.  Hope this clears things up for you.  I wasn't trying to look down on anyone.

You are in the right place. The Internet is a level playing ground and it doesn't matter what your circumstance, if you have a connection you can make money here as well as anyone once you learn how.

I think everyone has their own problems, how we handle those problems is what matters. We just gotta keep our head up high and work hard to get past it.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, you guys.  I'm making it for now, but it's scary thinking that my job could be lost at any time.  I know it's stable for right this second, but the swift downturn with the economy really woke me up!  I never use credit anymore (unless ABSOLUTELY necessary and I can't remember the last time I had to!) and I'm making a huge effort ot pay off any bills so I don't find myself in a worse situation later!  Ends are meeting but that's about it.  I hope the economy is working its way back up-I know that's what they say, but who knows?

Really broke that my husband is now borrowing all my money I had saved. I guess when he pays me back, I can pay my bills, then I will be broke again. So yes, I am broke.

Wow that Marie is just a ray of sunshine isn't she. I haven't read anything of hers that didn't make me feel about as big as an ant turd... Im sorry about what happen to u.. but let it go. Things happen. Make the best out of. I can't say that i know how u feel cuz i don't. But i know that its got to be tough. But don't laugh at the hard working people that get dicked over because of the economy. Ur not the only person in the world that somethin bad has happened to.

But to reply to the HOW BROKE ARE U part,,, yes i am very mad that Brittney made a comeback!! lol And about my baby daddy Patrick Swazye... :'(

i am a homemaker and my husband works.  he has been on unemployment since last year and began work this past july.  almost a year on unemployment was so hard and to see him at work everyday, he was so depressed.  it hurts to see my husband go through that.  but our son loves to see him home everyday so he can spend time with him but besides that were okay.

I have sold all but 20 cds (I had over 400), over half of my dvd collection and even some blu ray disks as well as video games to get an extra $20 here and there to cover some bills.  I sold my xbox360 because we had wii and ps3 too and my husband made me decide on which one to sell for a quick $250.  I've been doing surveys since April for spare cash.  I put all my eligible loans in forbearance because I had a $7000 pay cut this year and my husband had a $10000 emergency appendectomy in the 6 months I was uninsured due to be laid off.  My job doesnt allow time for a 2nd job but my husband works 12 hour days 5 days a week between 2 kitchens, and as sad as it is to say I had to use my grandmother's inheritance to catch up on bills (she died a month ago today).
I am very tired of the economic situation and I keep hoping that some day soon my MBA is actually going to be worth the $50,000 I spent to better myself - not worsen my situation

I sell on eBay too. Alot easier than having a yard sale in my opinion. My best profit on eBay was picking up a 50 cent keychain and selling for 23.00 on eBay!! WOHOOO

Hang in there vlsm23.  I've been there too.  My husband got a playstation3 for his birthday from his friends.  They all pooled together it was very unexpected.  We had to sell it two months later to buy groceries.  It broke my heart cause it was more than just a playstation it was something thoughtful his friends did for him and something my husband deserved.  One day I know I'll be able to replace it.  It helps to let it out a little doesn't it?
