Uh, oh. Counting the kittens from feral Momma
« on: September 18, 2017, 01:37:11 pm »
Thought there was only 3, 2 gray tigers and one pure black with white socks. Since it's too humid and hot to really do a lot of heavy work this week, hubby was sneaking down to the shed to watch them. Yesterday, he saw 5 of them. Still only one black and the rest gray tigers.  Bummed out. It was hard enough finding good homes for 2 of the kittens from the last litter and it took 4 months to socialize them. We also think she was caught by another male while pregnant with these kids, cuz she still has a big belly.

I hope she sticks around this time so we can get her fixed. Last time  she took off as if she knew what was going to happen, as did her male kid.

Awwwww poor cat.  Is there any way after you get her fixed you could adopt her, or find her a good home?  I hope you can get the kittens adopted.

I hope you can  catch her and get her fixed.  Way too many feral  cats now roaming around. You may have to get a special trap from the dog  catcher to do it with. And be very careful when you do  catch her can they can carry diseases  that can make you sick  when scratched or bitten., My youngest son caught a kitten and it scratched him and it took several weeks to get it cleared up.

Oof, I guess it's that time of year. My sister just had the same situation in her back yard and she was able to trap the mom to get her fixed, I hope you can do the same. I know nobody wants to pay for that but if you leave it to nature there'll be a new batch of kittens every time you look.

I hope you can catch & get her spayed this time!  She's probably too feral to be taken in but at least there'll be less kittens in the future.

She could not get pregnant while still pregnant.  Maybe she is just fat.

Well, she's much friendlier than the last time so maybe it won't be hard to keep her around. She has just prodded the kids to come to the house and start dining on regular food. The 4 grays were here this morning, the black one watched from a distance, even though he was here last night by himself with Momma. I have videos of him last night but forgot the camera this morning (I was too excited to see them all here).

They are afraid of us right now. I guess it's because we're so big compared to Momma, but I spent 20 minutes outside petting Momma with the kittens watching from a distance, so maybe it won't take too long to socialize them.

Momma isn't fat except in the tummy in the morning but by the afternoon, her tummy is smaller, too. Don't get that reasoning. I find it weird.
