Continued education
« on: September 23, 2017, 03:39:24 pm »
Are you continuing your education after college. I lost a 9 year job when I was in my 40's and I had to start all over, so I attended a medical school for 11 months and did an externship and now I at still working in the same industry.

I have no interest in going back to school.

Do you?

My school and working days are over. I am retired now, but I was laid three times during my career. It was devastating each time. I had on job for 30 years. Then another for 13 years. The last time I was 62 years old so I just took my social security and retired. It is very difficult to get a job when you are past 60.

I do not plan to go to school. However my daughter who was a stay at home mom to 3 daughters decided since her girls are older now she would go to college. She is 42 years old and just got a 2 year degree and landed a job working for the state. I am so happy for her.

I have thought about going back to school for another degree but I have two major problems.  I don't have the money and I have no clue what I want to study.

We can all benefit with going back to school. Sometimes it's something we don't want to do, but we never know when we may lose a job and need that education.
