I had a school bus luckily. My school was too far from home and really impossible to walk to. My school bus experience was great though :) I still have a lot of memories.

Yeah, but I only walked to school and back in elementary, because our school was conveniently right up the street. When I entered middle school, I took the bus (because the school was a mile and a half away) and when I was in high school, my mom would drive me, but most days I would walk back home because she would be too busy doing other things.

I walked in elementary school because it was 2 blocks away. I went to magnet schools for middle and high school so it wasn't anywhere near my house.

My brother and I walked to school every day, elementary school through high school. We lived in a smaller suburb of Chicago and all the schools were close enough for all the students to walk.

I lived in a pretty good area and very close to my school and my parents still always drove me, they were worried I'd get kidnapped or something if I walked.

Oh indeed I did!

My mother would not drive me, and we had moved into a crazy new subdivision that wound around like spilled milk.

It was a two mile walk, and with a loaded back pack of books...we didn't have everything on a computer.

Finally my mom started driving me to school after our family doctor yelled at mom that I was getting run down and sick....very anemic.

So she started driving me to school and feeding me better.

I still walk when I can, almost every day. Not two miles, but walk to keep healthy this time.
