Talk or text
« on: October 05, 2017, 03:55:36 am »
Do you prefer to talk or text your friends?  I like texting friends. Folks are
so busy these days, sometimes it good to be able to communicate in whatever
way you can just to keep in touch.

Plus, I already talk on the phone 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I prefer to text, but I understand why some people prefer to talk.

Come to think of it, it really depends; if it's something that's going to take multiple texts or if I need to say something that might get misconstrued then I actually prefer to talk.

Really neither. I'm not a phone person. I don't like to text or talk on the phone. If I had to choose it depends on the situation.

I like to text and talk both equally. There are some people that I would rather text because they like to talk your ear off and I really do not like talking a real long time on the phone. :monkey:

If I have something like a 10 minute window and I know that the person I want to communicate with has to talk for at least 20 minutes or longer, then by all means, I'm texting.

I carefully check my text message before sending so that the message is clear.

I prefer to talk, but sometime I prefer to text if the person I am talking to likes to talk too long I rather text them.

I prefer to talk.  However, if I can't reach the person, I will text.

It depends,  Texting is quick and easy but sometimes I just want to hear the sound of a friends voice

I prefer Texting, but I use the voice to text feature of my phone so I guess it's really talking.

I mostly text folks, but if I have something to say that requires a longer conversation, I will call.

It really depends on the specific situation.  As someone earlier kind of said, sometimes you just need to convey a short and simple bit of information and don't have a lot of time for ongoing chit-chat.  In that circumstance texting is ideal!  But texts with context or voice inflection can sometimes be misinterpreted and can also fall victim to auto-correct changing your words, or fat fingers turning legitimate context into gibberish.

There is a time and place for both.  But please do not text behind the wheel!
