That is an excellent suggestion.

I try to do that when I can.

Do all noodles bother you?  Or is it just the powdered cheese?  Perhaps you could use the noodles in other dishes?  My family has eaten tuna, peas and mac n' cheese several nights.  My daughter loves the stuff.  My son... not so much but he tolerates it.  Husband doesn't like it when I mix it all up - I don't care one way or another.

Agreed, if you don't like to add the different kinds meats and other sauces or just use the noodles. I completely understand about getting bored, ever tried the ketchup. Your friends or the food bank would love to take them.  :cat:

I have not had mac & cheese in many years. I guess now that I can afford to eat a meal that costs more than a dollar, I do. I lived off that in college.

First of all you could tell your aunt to stop sending them (at least until you've eaten what you have.)  Second, you could start adding things to the mac and cheese so it's not just the same old thing.  There's a recipe for pizza macaroni and cheese,  chicken ranch mac & cheese, toss in different cheese and/or noodles with it, turn it into a casserole with Italian meats and spices, make mini snack bites, throw jalapenos and bacon into the mix, you can even throw cheddar cheese with hot sauce onto it.  Knowing which foods your family likes you could start with that or something in that food group to mix up the mac and cheese.

Yuck the thought of boxed mac and cheese makes me nauseous.  You can easily make your own better tasting mac and cheese and add different things.  I saw a show the other day and they made lobster mac and cheese.  I'm not a huge fan of lobster so thought of making crab mac and cheese.  You could make chilli mac.

I cook hot dogs in the water with the shells and then chop them up in the macaroni and cheese mixture. That changes it a little.

Leftover chilled macaroni and cheese is good as a cold salad. Just add some mayo and some veggies.

If I have tomato soup and want shells in it, macaroni and cheese is good because the cheese flavor adds its own savory taste to it.

Bon appétit!
