I don't have a problem with NFL Players kneeling during the National Anthem.

That being said, I think we have the right to know what this is all about.  Some people ASSUME it's about disrespecting the flag or this country.  Those thoughts exist on the surface and I don't like making assumptions.

I want at least one of these players to step forward and explain why they're doing what they're doing.  We all know there's a certain amount of chaos in this country.

Why are they refusing to comply with the way things were done in the past?

It is totally disrespecting the flag and the country.  There is nothing to ASSUME.  It is what it is. And to answer your question they are doing it because they say cops don't treat black people right.  Well here is an FYI for them - white people who are stupid and pull a gun on a cop or whatever they get shot too.  The media just doesn't mention it.  A black cop shot a white man  not far from where I live.  NOTHING was mentioned in the news other than it happened. Race was never mentioned.  I only know because it was close to where I live.  If it had been the other way around the media would have been all over it.  With the exception of maybe one or two every person who was shot by a cop deserved to be shot.  You charge a cop with a gun he is going to shoot you.

So kneeling during the anthem yes it is disrespecting the flag, the country, the men and women who died to give them the right to act foolish.  The country is speaking loud and clear - NFL ratings are way way way down.  I won a subscription to ESPN magazine and I can't even give it away.

Since the national anthem protests started,I have stopped watching the anthem. When I watch an NFL game I don't turn it on until at least 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

lol.  WHY?  Ignoring ignorance but supporting the idiot doesn't make sense.

I don't think you have a right to know why the football players are kneeling. I think you are misusing the word RIGHT. Do you know what a right is? A right is not just something you want to know.  From where do you think this right is deprived from?

So, these football players are kneeling? And you don't know why? And you are listening to the news? I'd like to SEE some effort go into figuring this stuff out. I'd like to see the figuring out team, figuring some things out.

I don't know though. What is so offensive about kneeling? Isn't kneeling respectful? Is it bowing? All this crap about get on your knees and pray and I can guarantee that the majority of people out there do not kneel to pray regular. You, being from Utah, probably don't kneel to pray regularly enough. If you are Mor-man, I don't know. But, I know you don't because the Prophet had to challenge you all just to read your scriptures. Shame, Shame. You probably fold your arms more than kneel.

Wow.  Surely more than the OP's comments got your panties all in a wad there.

What is offensive about kneeling?  I am assuming you are not from the United States.  Heck, I will go a step further and say you are here illegally.  You sound like a Hispanic guy I use to work with who yep he was in the country illegally.  How he had a job?  Not sure.  But he didn't hide the fact he came here illegally.  He has no respect for our country, the flag, or anything else.  Not sure why he is here if he hates this country and everything it stands for so bad.

There are standards that have always been revolving the flag, the anthem and other things.  It's just how it is.  SO yeah sitting on your *bleep*, kneeling, not removing your hat, or whatever - yes that is being disrespectful.  And yes, people have a RIGHT to know what it is about.  And the OP is not stupid or lazy for not going and figuring it out.  I didn't know exactly what it was until a couple weeks ago.  Then thought it even more stupid.  The friggin idiots that have been arrested and had run ins with the law all deserved whatever happened.  They were not singled out.  They were stupid and breaking the law.

And my last thought is I am not sure how you know the OP is a Mormon.  I clicked her pic to look at her profile but did not see that info as public info.  Maybe you are assuming that as well.

I can tell you this - these NFL players are not kneeling to show respect.  They are doing it to be as disrespectful as possible.  And the ratings are way down.  Guess they took too many hits to the head to realize that when the seats are empty and nobody buys tickets and nobody watches the games there will be no need for the players and their big paychecks will stop!  I can't wait for that to happen!!!

I doubt most of the players really know or care what they are kneeling for!  For them to make the kind of outrageous money they make to claim injustice and inequality is a load of bull!  We are not watching any football this year and may not ever again if they don't get their crap straight.

Colin Kaepernick started it last year when he said he won't respect the flag or this country as long as there is injustice in the country...while wearing his pig police socks.  I find it very disrespectful to all the service people who fought and died for him to be able to protest.

It's a double standard. Tim Tebow took a knee to prayer and what did they do to him? Didn't he have to pay a fine and was then canned from the team?  Double standard?

BTW, In the operations manual, the NFL states players MUST stand and show respect for the flag and the national anthem or else pay a fine and/or be benched. So why isn't the NFL following it's own rules? They pick and choose whatever rules they want.  Double Standard.

Our local newspaper asked if people stood behind the players and back the NFL and 76% stated they don't and will no longer watch the game,
and yes, it is a double standard. it's bad to do that for something good, but good to do that for  something bad. the only reason it seems to be an injustice, is because when they commit a crime they want to get away with it and not be punished. I see it happening all the time with blacks killing blacks, it's the same way with the whites, so don't give me this i'm being a racist, that's just a word you use when you can't face the facts when someone is trying to tell you the truth, so stop throwing out that race card every time things don't go your way

I have no problem with it either, I see kneeling as a sign of respect since they're giving the National Anthem their full attention while kneeling.

I think it started as a silent protest against police brutality against African Americans.  Sad to see that their message has been lost due to all the outrage.

Well, with Roger Goodell getting a contract extension, until 2024 it doesn't look like this kneeling business will end any time soon.  ::)
