Lovely Day for a Hike
« on: October 17, 2017, 07:45:44 am »
Yesterday we took our two-year old grandson on a nature hike.  We had a GRAND time.  The state park is just a few miles from town, the weather was warm and mild.  The trees are in full fall colors.

We climbed over rocks and up the cliff walls, looked at red bugs, peered over edges of cliffs, examined dead trees that were hollow and had bark peeling off, scuffed our feet through the dry oak leaves, checked out lichen on the sioux quartzite rocks,  and marveled at the 1,250-foot-long (380 m) line of rocks aligned by Plains Indians which marks where the sun rises and sets on the spring equinoxes.
