Walmart has layaway for the holidays.
« on: October 28, 2017, 10:44:17 pm »
I do not think that I will  purchase anything that is really expensive that I have to layaway it. If I cannot pay cash for it, I will not buy it.

If there is any fee attached I wouldn't use layaway.  Might as well set the money aside yourself for whatever you want to purchase.  The other thing is I wouldn't want to use layaway to buy something and then see it being sold far cheaper on Black Friday.

I don't use layaway, I think you end up spending more money on things you do not need because you know you do not have to pay for it right away.

when my children were small I used layaways beccause they were great to hide gifts till I could get them while they were in school and get them wrapped and hidden now I really haven't thought about layaways

Always use it in the past, but they changed, I don't need that service anymore.

Yeah they have it for very limited items.  We tried to put some clothes in there a few years ago and they wouldn't let us.  Said it is just for toys and a few items like that.

I don't want or need anything on layaway, especially from Wal-Mart, thanks, but no thanks.

Thanks for the info.  It is a good thing to know especially if you need a place to store the stuff you  want to give for Christmas.  It gives you and option to keep from adding stuff to your credit card.

I don't see the need for laway unless it is some rare item or one that sells out fast. Just make the payments you would normally make to your savings account and save yourself a little money. I assume there are fees since they're technically missing out on revenue keeping it on hold for you.

This is good for people who want to purchase a little at a time before paying the item off.

I think layaway can be a good idea if there's no fee and you're responsible enough to not put more into layaway that you can reasonably pay off in time. It also helps if you're disciplined enough to actually go all the way through with it and actually finish paying off your layaway stuff.

Honestly, I never use layaway.  I start looking for Christmas gifts as early as September and I check prices, the regular not sale, and just save if I can't afford the item then or buy it if I can.

I have not used layaway in a long time.  It was great when my kids were little.

That is nice especially for folks with kids.  I would not use it unless I put myself a tv on layaway lol and paid for it over two months or whenever they end the layaway.  I used it when my sons were young.
