I just got an invitation to a friend’s husband’s 70th birthday,  it’s in an American Legion Hall (he was in the service).  At the bottom of the invitation it said “dress patriotic”. I don’t own any clothing, nor does my husband, that is red, white, and blue.  None that have flags on them either.  Any ideas?

I saw a girl wearing a skirt made out of red, white and blue streamers made out of crepe paper. with leggings underneath.  Of course your husband might not want to wear a skirt.  HA!
