Gift cards are the best to give

One year we just gave our kids cash to teach them a lesson on choices.  Usually we just ask for a list.

Lists are just easier. I like to have lots of options so it is still a "surprise".

I always get my niece and nephews gift cards (they're older and I have no clue what they want), that way they can get what they want.

I say give them cash. If they are younger get them toys if they do the santa thing.

Depending on their age, gift cards that way they can just get what they want; if they are younger they usually   asked for something specific and that make it easier if it is in the budget, if not look for similar alternative that fits the budget!!!

I would start with something they might need, like shoes, or clothing. Than I would give them something they want, like a dvd, cd, book, toys etc. Gift cards are a good idea for something they might want to get when they get ready to shop. Favorite candy's a good stocking stuffer! Good Luck!

I Have no idea what to get kids in 2017.  It seems everything changes  so fast and kids wants everything they see on TV.  Your choice to make.

I take mine shopping and give them a limit to pick out what they want but also watch what else they look at and like and then I go back or order it online.   Seems to work for us
