No....I don't smoke but I hear it's pretty difficult to stop.  Over the years my mom has tried hypnotism, patches, e-cigs and gum.  She has only managed to cut down.  I guess the only way is sheer willpower.

If your trying to stop  GoodLuck to you ;)

I quit smoking almost 10 years ago (December 1,  2007) using Chantix. I had tried just about everything else and nothing else worked for me. Some people are strong enough to go cold turkey, but not me. Good luck. It's a nasty habit, hope you can kick it.

I quit in 1999.  I used the patch and had no problems quitting.  Good luck I know it’s hard to quit.

I would think the price of a pack of cigarettes alone who persuade you to stop... the prices are insane! I was reading the the prices in New York are up to $12 a pack

I know here in CA we voted on attaching $2 tax to each pack last year - the money was to go to smoking prevention program & smoking health care -   BUT instead the $2.00 just went to the general fund & now the extra money is going to fund undocumented immigrant up to age 26's healthcare instead of smoking prevention.  CA ... all I can do is shake my head.

I smoked for 40 years 2 packs a day!  Jan 3rd it will be 3 years i quit.... I started rolling my own with a roller and got the cheapest junk i could find, they tasted so foul i didn't want to smoke them , i did carry them with me and were i'd light up before i started tossing them one by one away !!  I was a menthol smoker and i even made the switch on the nasty stuff, i mean it was only maybe 9.00 a bag for this tobacco, made a carton of cigs!  Yep tasted so bad i couldn't stand it , i quit once and never smoked since.  Something else is other people around me still smoke and i don't bother me at all.  I live alone and i have a ash tray for friends on the coffee table. I let people smoke at my house as well as in my truck. I will never tell people off for smoking I did it for 40 years.  They know it bad for them as i did, we quit when we are ready to or it don't work.

If you really want to quit, you can do it. If you don't really want to quit, you will not. No one can tell you to stop, but you can if you want to yourself.  :star:

I cannot understand why people pay so much for such a dirty, unhealthy activity. Seriously, it's slightly enjoyable but not worth all the risks and the smelly breath and the cost.  :P

I'm a smoker for over 40 years now.  Have tried everything to quit with no success.   The only thing that has helped me to cut way back is e-cigarettes.   I have cut back a lot and hopefully will eventually be able to quit.

My dad does okay with the E-cig's. You can get stuck on those too though.
