It is just me and my parents so nothing really. We use to eat with my grandparents before they died. If they where still alive, I would have say politics if possible.

We avoid the fact that my cousin's 'best friend' comes to all our Thanksgivings. It's actually my female cousin's girlfriend.  I have a large Catholic family and 80% of them, including me, don't care a whit. Unfortunately her mother is one of the 20% that would pitch a fit to actually 'find out' her daughter is gay. Still haven't gotten it figured out how she doesn't know, but maybe it helps that this is one of the few cousins that lives out of state. Everyone has been told not to let Grandma know. I don't even think she'd mind. I'm 31 and I've never heard her say anything homophobic in my life. I've heard her opinion on religion, politics, etc. But she's never brought up how she feels about gay rights. I don't think she ever thought of it b/c she is 90 and it's really never affected her personally. The family is more worried about protecting her. It took months for my other cousin to tell her he was having a child out of wedlock. (Even though my dad had two kids before getting married.) IDK my family is weird. We just don't talk about stuff.
