I like oatmeal raisin cookies but I like most cookies as long as they don't have nuts in them, I don't like the taste of them it's like eating pieces of wood :bad: 8)

Upon seeing this topic again I had to post about an all-time favorite chocolate chip cookie with recipe.

This is the "famous" favorite cookie recipe -- Barbara Bush's Chocolate Chip Cookie -- that the Houstonian Hotel (Houston, TX) regularly serves as a staple item on their menu.  They baked many of these cookies as a special tribute to Mrs. Bush at her passing in April, giving away thousands.

The "secret" ingredients to this famous chocolate chip cookie recipe are the addition of quick 3-minute oatmeal and Valrhona chocolate chunks.

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups quick-cooking oats (not instant)
1 (12 ounces) bag semisweet chocolate chips, preferably Valrhona*

*Valrhona Chocolate is a premium French chocolate (check website).  I found it available in bulk at Whole Foods and I chipped it into chunks for this recipe.  You may find Valrhona bars available at Walmart.

Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt onto waxed paper. Set aside.
Beat together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool.

Normally it's chocolate chip, however, lately I've been really into sugar cookies!
