neutrality on the internet
« on: January 01, 2018, 08:02:13 am »
is getting a lot of attention.
how is it that one man can ruin things for the mass of people both business and consumer?
the isp companies want to keep it.
it would complicate things and make things difficult.
I read that the internet companies are preparing to "get around" whatever is 'decided' and keep the net neutral.

I know this is getting a ton of attention, but I honestly have no clue what this means.  And I know good and well there are a ton of people out there just like me in that regard.

Net neutrality is based on service providers treating all data on the internet the same-not charging differently based on users, web service, mode of communication, applications, platforms, or content (to name a few) which keeps providers from intentionally censoring, blocking, slowing down or charging for specific online content. One party's argument is that consumer privacy protections were eliminated. The over ruling party argues that broadband providers will have stronger incentive to build networks in underserved regions. Judge for yourself. A recent news story stated that an increase in the use of the dark web and TOR software has increased but the majority of public users do not feel comfortable using those venues.  Through my daytime job I have a network of aliases that guard my important information. I use TOR for other privacy venues when my personal information is especially important. One door closes and another opens.

From as much or little as I know, I think I would prefer they stay neutral (as they now are)  ???
