I do not feed the squirrels. They usually manage to find their own food, especially when there is a tree that bears fruit at our home.

I don't feed the squirrels. But around here, they're pretty good at feeding themselves. There's quite a few pecan trees in my neighborhood.

We never fed the squirrels. They stole from us years ago. We had a whole fish net full of popcorn that we were drying. One day it was there, the next half gone and this was on the cobs. They also stole my black walnuts one year. I would watch them bury they stash in the yard then in the winter, run around trying to remember where they buried it. One squirrel used to come up on our porch and gnaw at the wood, leaving behind a round indentation that looked like the wood was burned.

I don't think we have any squirrels around anymore. I have had 2 sets of feral cats move in so.... :)

Squirrels can become big pests if you feed them at your home. They hang around and go after your birds, which is not so good. Of course, they don't do as much damage as groundhogs or deer though.

No but we have a walnut tree in the yard and they help themselves to it.  They know when they are ready and watching them claw into those things with ease is fascinating.  We need a sledgehammer, gloves and tnt. :)

They never come close enough where I am in PA.  I would if they did though!

Our neighborhood is overrun with them. They tear up anything made of wood and get into people's houses by making huge holes and I detest them. They are purely rodents with no reason to live, in my opinion. I know God must have had a reason for creating them, but for the life of me I don't know what it could be.  ::)

I know I'm in the minority on the forum, but if you had the kind of carnage done in your neighborhood as we have had here, you might not think they're so cute. I would never feed them, but one of my neighbors doesn't close her garbage can lid, so they can get to that. I'm not worried about them at all. And I'd be happy to never see one again as long as I live.

Don't mean to be so negative, but they really get on my nerves. There are always about five or six romping in my yard. And if they're not romping, they're screeching. They make the most hideous noises.  :bad:
