debralee, I  can't help but notice that no one had anything to say about your post.  I am very sorry that bad things have happened to make you feel that way.  I know you probably don't feel like it but if you could get out during the holidays and help others, serving in a soup kitchen or senior citizens center I promise it would make you feel better.  We all have the ability to bring cheer to someone else.  When you do that it is impossible not to feel good inside.

I will shop this year. I love giving gifts to family even if it's a gift card I give.

in the last few years, i have knocked everyone off my shopping list. now, i just buy for my 3 kids. i do a christmas savings club through the bank. used to shop all year long. now i'm very careful about gifts - they must be meaningful or practical.

I don't plan to do much Christmas shopping this year. I got laid off in February this year and busineses are just now slightly picking back up. Not enough to turn the economy around.  maybe next year will be better.

I'm a bit worried about Christmas shopping, I have absolutely no money, and no job at the moment...

I'm a bit worried about my money situation but I will make it work out because Christmas is my favorite holiday and I want to make it special for my family.

I too am unemployed at present, so it will be a Christmas of handmade gifts and gifts of time, like babysitting or petsitting, etc. I don't mind and my friends and family understand.

But those are the kind of gifts that mean the most!!!

I usually do gift cards for christmas. I like it where everyone can pick out what
they want instead of me getting something they're not happy with.

We are going to have a little bit more money this year. we are going to spend a little more on daughter but i am wanting to stick to a budget for the family. there are a few family members that could use a little extra help and i would be willing to give them more but for the others that are doing just fine they can have the same amount of what we spend last year

My wife starts shopping for the next year the day after Christmas, so we already have most of the gifts bought and paid for. We do wait until close to Christmas to get the Grandchildren's presents because they change what they want day to day.
