Do You Keep a Diary?
« on: March 25, 2018, 07:19:03 pm »
I just started recently and I find it's a good way to wind down at night!  It is nice to write my daily life down and my state of mind.

I had one when I was 10.  My father was nosy and I suspect he read it.  I tore it up and didn't have one since.  I lived overseas for a few years and I kept one then.  Just a record of my daily life and adventures there.  I was going to make it a blog but I just wrote it in a notebook instead.  I haven't read it in a few years.

Hello! :D :)

Yes, I have an online diary that allows others to read what is going on in my life. I also have offline diaries which I kept in my younger years. It's always good to see how far you have come in your life by going back and reading old thoughts. Yes, I agree a diary is a good way to wind down after a long day. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

No I don't. But the only time I did was a 7 day project I did for an online survey I completed and was compensated for it.

I have always kept a I diary from the time I was required to do so from my 5th grade class in my grade school days.  As a writer it's a way to release all the pain, anger, frustration, stress, anxiety and joy that happens during the course of the day.  Often enough it's been a constant companion through hard times and times of sorrow like when I lost my maternal grandmother.  It's seriously the best drug on the market.  And heals with no side-effects.

Wow.. the same thing happened to me. The only difference is my mom was the nosy one, and I knew for sure she had read it. I was so annoyed that I just tore out the pages I had written on, tossed it aside and never wrote in it again. I now just write my thoughts in a journal when I feel compelled.

I did once, just as an outlet for a terrible marriage.

BIG MISTAKE

Husband found it. I confronted him, and he left....but that was a good thing, he was always cheating on me.

Would never do that again.

I don't keep a diary of my life, r any kind of journal. Just something that I've not done in many years. I'm not much for writing on paper. It's good that you can do that to unwind from a long day!  :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover:

I really need to do this.  It's good to vent.  And to think about things.

I used to write in them when I was a child up until I was about 16 or so. I actually still have them stored away in a memory box.

One of the few luxuries that I afford myself is a Franklin Covey planner which I have had/followed for twenty five years. I plan out each day, week, month, quarter and year as well as projects that need to be done. Daily tasks are prioritized for work and family. I keep favorite quotes in it and ideas for improvement the next month. I write down the names of songs that I would eventually like to download.  I keep track of special holidays and write down ideas that I have geared towards making others happy. I keep track of meetings and put my meeting notes in it. During my self employment days I used to keep receipts in my planner. I used it to write a few speeches that I needed to address. I scheduled out bands that I wanted to see at bigger concert venues. In these ways it was/is kind of like a diary for me.
