Good Movies
« on: April 05, 2018, 07:08:44 am »
Anybody seen any good movies lately? I just saw two really awesome flicks. One was The Shape of Water which won all kinds of academy awards last year and the other was a German film with English subtitles called Tony Erdmann which won Best Foreign Film. Both were quite different from the usual fare and kept my attention every minute.

I just saw "I Can Only Imagine" and it has been ages since I saw a movie that actually made me cry. It was a true story about a boy who grew up being abused by his father after his mother left them and ended up writing a song about how God changed his dad from a monster into someone he loved.

No.  I haven't seen any good movies this year... I'm behind in my movie watching.
I did see CoCo during Christmas... that was pretty good. :)

One of the only movies I have watched this year, was on HBO, it was Alien: Covenant.... what a totally dumb movie. I like the Alien series, but these Alien prequels are just not cutting it.

I've mostly seen animated movies lately since I've taken my grandkids with me.  I'm going tomorrow to see "I Can Only Imagine" since I'll have no grandkids here.  I've been trying to see it since it came out but was afraid it'd be too mature for my young grandkids.  I was very pleased this am when I got the email with the schedule for this weeks' movies and saw it is still playing at our theater.  I also wanted to see Paul, the Apostle but its not playing here now.

If you like action/fantasy, definitely check out Wonder Woman, Justice League, and John Wick 2.

I haven't seen anything lately. I hate paying so much money for theater prices. My friend just saw that Shape of the Water movie and said it was fantastic.

I'm hoping to see it very soon.

You still PAY to see movies in the theater? That's the only reason I still use Clixsense when I watch TV at night, so I can get free passes and popcorn to the theater with my Tango Card.

Believe it or not, I just watched Schindler's List last weekend for the very first time (I think it's either coming up on, or just passed, 25 years ago that it came out).  Then the next day I watched Wind River and The Imitation Game.  All three were pretty good movies in my opinion.   I would like to go and see Paul, The Apostle of Christ.
