Honestly I feel bad for people who have to make calls like this all day long with a pre-written script, because I work as a receptionist for a radio station, and even find it boring when I have to tell 10 people they won tickets to the same show, in a day.

YES! I have gotten numerous phone calls from telemarketers since I have been signing up for many many sites! I decided to give an OLD, NON-working phone number when joining, because I cannot deal with them calling my home night & day!  :-X

I'm more afraid of people texting me and signing me up for SMS notifications that include a monthly cost. I just tell the telemarketers that I'm on the Do Not Call Registry list, and they get scared and hang up. :D

Even before i did fc i used to get phone calls it seems like anytime or anything u do on the internet or even just filling out any kind of registration for anything somehow telemarketers get your no.  But at least with fc you make some money along with it.  Get caller id you don't have to answer or you can turn the ringer down or off.

I've been using sites like FC for years now and I know a good bit about this. I used to get calls from offers but no longer do 'cause I handle it the smart way.....

1) Listen to their whole "buy-this-blah-blah" thing
2) When they finally shutup say "Are you aware that I am on the do-not-call list?"
3) 99% of the time the response will be an apology from them
4) Before they hang up say "Wait, stay on the line for a minute"
5) IF they stayed on say something along the lines of-

"Are you aware that you, an individual telemarketer calling me, and your company, can be taken to federal court for calling someone placed on the do-not-call list?  Furthermore, I would like to point out that calls about this same [WHATEVER THEY'RE TRYING TO BOTHER YOU WITH] every day for the past week.  I would like you to make sure that everyone knows not to call me anymore and that I do not respond to telephone solicitations."

Think half of ^^^ is  :bs:?  You're right, some is, but if you point out that you have been called multiple times by them (even if you haven't) they will get the message.

have fun with it.

i let them do their spiel and then i say:
"well, why would i switch long distance providers when as soon as i hang up the phone, i'm going to kill myself....  that is, unless YOU can talk me out of it!"    :D

make THEM work for YOU!  :o

kidding, suicide isn't funny.  but it is fun to freak out the marketers.  it also probably is the highlight of their poor, boring, monotonous day   :icon_rr:

screen your phone calls with an answering machine. most companies now days use autodialers to call and will remove your number from there system within a week if they never spak to a person.

I'm fairly new here, and I would like to know if any of you get phone calls from any of the sponsors???? I can deal with the e-mails and even if they send me mail as I can do with that as I please, but I really, really hate the phone calls!!!! I don't think I want to do this if I'm going to get called all the time now... Is this what's going to happen? Any way I can reverse it? HEEEELP!  :BangHead:

The only way you will get phone calls is if you do an offer that states you will receive them.  Otherwise Nope!!  F C is cool!!!!      :peace:

hey harley...isn't magicjack only good to use with other magicjack subscribers?? I was seriously thinking of getting it until I saw that it only worked if other magicjack subscribers had it.

I'm new here and haven't had any phone calls yet.  I'm also on the Do Not Call list.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was ok for them to call if you have done business with their company in the last 18 months or so.  Would filling out a registration form be classified as "doing business"?

Often when you do offers when you submit your info (address, phone #, etc.) it will say in the small print "By Clicking This You Agree To Our Terms and Conditions".  Then you read the Terms and Conditions and it'll say "By submitting your information you acknowledge that you may be contacted by us or some of our sponsors through email, physical mail, or by telephone".
