Well, that was unexpected...
« on: April 25, 2018, 08:56:04 am »
One of my neighbors was shot in the head about 20 years ago.  The doctors told his family that he would be in a vegetative state, probably for the rest of his life.

They were wrong.  He has recovered, mostly.  He is somewhat childlike in his actions and mental processes.  Comparable to a 13 to 15 year old.  He can, and will, talk about movies and video games for hours.  And God and the Bible.

That's the background.

This morning, he was picking up trash around the apartment complex, and stopped by my back door to say hello, and talk a little.
He was telling me about Adam and Eve, and how Adam lived to be 900 years old.  He said "Back in those days, they had to live a long time, because there were no more people around, so they had to make a lot of babies."

I asked him, "So wait, if there were no more people around, where did Cain get his wife?"

He said, "Off the internet, I guess...you can order anything online!"

Made my day... ;D

that is what the doctors told my mom about me when I was diagnosed with epileptic seizures and was  learning challenged . but at close to 2 years old I was healed from Epilepsy and learned how to talk. met 75% of the goals set out for me. now I'm a normal healthy almost 43 year old woman. doctors can only see in the natural not in the spiritual. things like this are surprising to them. wonderful story

That's awesome.  I love those kinds of conversations.  I watch Youtube videos and the ones I love the most are two friends playing something.  I don't remember what the video was but they were watching the intro and one asked "where is my coke" and the other sorta brushed him off and mentioned something else then later he says, "now let me watch this intro and enjoy your coke."

I laughed way too long about that simple little exchange but it's things like that where it's humor that can be missed if you aren't paying attention.  You have the traditional slapstick comedy where it's right in your face and pretty obvious why it's supposed to be funny, and then you have this underlined funny things that I love cause it's like an inside joke to me.

My daughter at age five was diagnosed with a very very serious case of spinal meninghitis. She had a blood clot on the brain that was inoperable. The doctors expected her to die within 24 hours.

I was an athiest. I angrily and defiantly prayed and asked God to prove to me He was real and that He cared.

I ran out of the room sobbing, but came back 45 minutes later so she would not die alone.

The nurses asked where I had been, as my daughter had awakened out of her coma the minute I had left, and was sitting up in bed pointing at the little chicks on her tiny hospital gown and smiling.

God does remarkable things. Today she is married, a college graduate, teacher at a daycare.

Praise the Lord :)
