I use my Crockpot all the time, it's so much easier to cook in and don't have to worry about continued watching.

I'm on my third one. My first one didn't have a removable crock (from the 70s). My second one was used so often that the crock cracked...but I still used it for over 2 years until the crack got wider. Both these pots were round. i would made stuffed peppers in the 2nd one a lot and 4 fit fine in there.  Hubby decided I needed a new one and surprised me with one of the new oval ones but of course, it was a camouflage color! Anyway, it's too big. i can fit 6 stuffed peppers in it and the crock is black which shows white lines where the juice from a corned beef was done in it and it won't come out.  I didn't say anything to him about it because he rarely buys me anything anymore.  :(

BTW, i made chicken in it once but it turned out like rubber so I won't do it again since Hubby doesn't like chicken to begin with. This was made in the 2nd crockpot.

Your recipe sounds really delicious.  I have a crockpot and have been considering buying an Instapot - all this from a person who never cooks.  I kind of lost interest in cooking after my hubby passed away six years ago.  My son is a chef and he comes over and cooks sometimes.  Also my other son who actually lives with me brings food home almost every night from the assisted living facility he works at although I am not particularly liking said food even though it is free.

We used our crock pot for years, but it went to the Goodwill when we got an Instant Pot. It does everything we did before and a lot more and faster.

I love using the crockpot for roast beef.  Put roast in frozen, sprinkle with dry Lipton Onion Soup mix, add some water, cover and cook on low overnight.  In the morning, add potatoes and carrots, onions and even cabbage. Dinner at noon is ready.

I love to use the ole crock for cooking raw chili beans before I finish making the whole 10 quart pot of chili.

I never use mine to be honest. If I want to make something, I just go to the oven or the stove out of habit.

I have very little counter space, but I still love using it.

Especially in the winter, knowing a lovely hot pot of goodness at the end of the day to warm things up.

Also, in the summer, you can cook a good meal without heating up the kitchen.

:fish: :moon: :fish: I do have a crockpot. It does get used more times than I can count. Makes good meals. Less of a mess with lots of other pans. Put food in it and leave it for hours.  :fish: :moon: :fish:

We use the crockpot for chili and other soups, pot roast, cheesy hashbrowns, pulled pork for sandwiches.  We've tried about everything in the crockpot.  Not a good idea for some things.

I use my crock pot quite often.  It saves a lot of time when preparing meals that can be eaten during the week.
