Dry Eye Syndrome

Do any of you suffer from Dry Eye Syndrome?

I do, and I have tried everything, even Restasis. I have had bad vision since I was 5 when I started walking into walls, and mom took me for my first pair of blue eye glasses.

But to have bad vision AND Dry Eye Syndrome is horrible. It gets so bad that some days, I cannot stand it. I will be trying to do a survey, and my eyes will either be bone dry or streaming. It is really affecting my ability to do surveys lately.

If any of you have any helpful suggestions, I am open to them. I may have heard them, but then again, there may be something new.

I had really dry eyes over the winter and went to the eye doctor for it. I have been using artificial tears now for years but I needed some extra help over the winter for some reason.

Probably the cold air outside, OR if you have your heat on. Heat can suck every bit of moisture from your eyes.

Some days, I wish I could take my eyes out, but anatomy doesn't work that.

It is just that bad.

I get that from time to time myself, it's really uncomfortable. It can feel like you have something in your eyes when you don't and it burns. I usually try to take additional breaks from my devices so I blink more, and use artificial tears. But it sounds like your case is a bit more severe. I wish I had better advice for you. Maybe a doctor might have something else they can prescribe.

Are you on any kind of medication that could be contributing to drying your eyes I was having this problem and when I went to my eye doc they found out that one of my medications causes dry eyes so they changed my Med and now things seem some better---- just a thought

No, my doctor looked at all my medications. I have read that it could be a vitamin D deficiency. I am thinking about taking that to see if it works.

Yes, I used to put the fan in my face, but not anymore. I aim it at my feet, but I am sure it does not help, but it gets too hot in my apartment without it due to the a/c being older and not as efficient as it should be. It is sheer torture. It's been going on for three years now, and even Restasis does not help.

I am going to the doctor soon and asking if I can get those inserts that you put in your eye to add moisture; it dissolves gradually.

I am constantly using  eye drops of some kind, my Graves /hyperthyroidism is causing one  eye to bulge some now and am suppose to use 3 different kinds of eye drops at different times and I have them all marked as to what and when I have to use them. One at night to help keep my eyes moist, one for morning to clear the allergies out in the morning and the other one to use off and on in the day to stop the itching.  This has been going on for almost  4  years and is getting old. But it is what must be done.

Some days I have dry eyes cause of the weather. Most of the time my eyes aren't dry. Which is a good sign for me. I have put eye drops in my eyes when they get to certain time's of the year or the weather changes!
