It's almost here! What does it mean to you? What are your plans? What are you looking forward to about it?

First is to remember all those who have died so that we can be free, second the greatest day in racing on Sunday with the Gran Prix of Monaco, Indy 500, and the Coca Cola 600, third the beginning of summer.

I'm a Veteran and I will remember my Brothers I lost in Iran and Iraq. I saw my Boys killed and I will never get that out of my head. I take medicine for PTSD but the nightmares are still there.

This is the fist time I'll be off work in years.  I generally don't care about having off but that's how my schedule worked out.  I don't have any plans.

Memorial Day usually marks the beginning of summer for many.  It is a day to remember our love ones that are not with us anymore.

It is a day of paying tribute to those we lost. They will never be forgotten, we honor them, we appreciate them, we most of all we Thank them for the sacrifice they made in giving their lives in the Wars. To all the Vets that are still with us we give Thanks, if we had a million tongues, we couldn't Thank you enough. :rainbow: :peace:

Unfortunately, I have to work...  Enjoy your summer because before you realize it, it will be Labor Day weekend!
Have a wonderful day!

I remember our love ones we lost in a war that we did not need to fight.  Also the start of summer.

Memorial Day is actually a really sad day.  It is a day to remember those who died giving us the freedoms so many idiots are p*ss*ng away today.  It irritates me to hear someone say Happy Memorial Day.  I am going to start asking them what is happy about it? Do you even know what this day means?

Having said that, I don't have any big plans.

NO IT ISN'T!  It is a day to remember the SOLDIERS who died fighting for this country. Has NOTHING to do with your loved ones. Unless they died fighting in a war.

Like I said, most people do not have a clue what Memorial Day even is.

When my kids were younger and husband was alive we cooked out and spent a family day together and tried to think about vets although we didn't have anyone who served we still tried to instill in our sons the meaning of the day.

We will be going  up to put flowers on the children's graves, then from there  to visiting with some old friends. We get together  every year and visit,  also to remember  our old friends  who have passed away from past years. And to celebrating our birthdays. As  there are  5 of us  that have them within days of each other. So it is a sad  along with some happy memories.
