Infected Ad Page
« on: June 03, 2018, 09:10:44 am »
For the last week or so, every time the ad page for the Daily Click opens I get an alert from my anti-virus that the page is infected.

Anyone else getting this?

No but sometimes I get an error 404 which I think means that the original path was disrupted and cannot be found. I never had an anti virus pop up block it.

That might be what is known as adware. I have a mac and often when I am on another site, I get constant pop ups or downloads from something called MacKeeper saying something similar.  I have to drag the app to trash and then unload my trash.

I have not had that happen with Fusion Cash or PTC.

Are you able to call your anti-virus and talk to them about what you are getting? Or do you have any tech support that you can call?  You can also take a screen shot and open a support ticket with Fusion Cash.

I have had this happened to me also when I click on the sponsor pages in the PTC.  Mcfee blocks the page but I still get credit for clicking on the sponsor page.

haven't had any problems like that but do know my adblocker program can give me trouble unless I disable it

Yep I have 2 different anti-virus programs react and block the ads,  (also the ad that opens on the daily e-mail) but both things credit so it does no matter to me that I cannot see the ad.  I would never turn it off the risk of screwing up the computer majorly is not worth any pennies earned.  If I wasn't getting credit on the ptc (since it is a repeatable) I would look into investigating WHY? but since it credits, I just continue on.

Today, when I did PTC, I got MacKeeper pop up or download on every one of the sponsored ads. It says something about infected sites, etc, but I know that MacKeeper is annoying adware that never seems to go away permanently. I know how to make it go away temporarily but I guess that I will have to call Apple to find out how to permanently delete it.

I have the exact same situation with MacKeeper.  I can quit it when it comes up and it will go away for awhile but I have to continue to quit it when it returns.

Though I did do research on how to permanently delete any program for Mac, I would much rather speak to an expert on the subject.

I have Apple Care and plan to give them a call soon to ask how to permanently delete MacKeeper. I do not know if it is possible. I will post my response after speaking to them.

If you have Apple Care, you can give them a call or you can go to an Apple Store, if one is close to you, and ask.

I have been seeing this for several weeks now.  It doesn't affect my computer in anyway and does give me the credits.

Just to clarify my OP... I am NOT running any ad-blockers. This is a virus issue, not an ad or ad-blocker issue.

I think we have Apple Care also.  All I know is that support has always been great with Apple.  We went to the Apple store recently but we already had a pretty big agenda to cover so I decided to go with phone support.  I guess I should put that on the top of my to do list.

Thanks for your reply.

I get an annoying spin wheel when I do the daily clicks from my phone with a robot voice that won't go away. These pages are very infectious! Not sure why they would allow this. I'm afraid to do the daily's anymore.

I haven't run into this issue. The page I click into to get PTC never loads or cannot be found or something like that, but it still credits. I must have different computer security than you do.
