May he RIP. I will miss his show. He was an asset to CNN. So sad for his family especially his young daughter.

61 years old - what a shame. I have since childhood had a lot of trauma and difficulty but I would never want to commit suicide.  My father did and I think God intends you to stay on the earth until he takes you out but that is just my opinion.

Sad to hear.  I liked him and his shows.  I wonder if he left a note.  I know he had a young daughter.  I don't understand why people want to leave their children like that. 

I think you have to hit a pretty low point.  I also think they feel their child would be better off without them.  And as stupid as it sounds I wonder if they really realize this is permanent.  You aren't going to know how it effects people.  This isn't tv.  You aren't going to be invisible floating around the room to see how people react.  You can't come back. You can't undo it.

I always watched his show and love it. Why they do that if hey have everything, but well happiness can't buy. He may Rest in Peace .

You don't know he had everything. All you know is what you see from the outside.  From what you know he had money but in reality you don't even know that.  Just because someone is famous doesn't mean they aren't broke.  Rich people spend a lot of money.  Apparently that Kate Spade killed herself because her husband was going to leave her.  We don't know why.  Maybe she cheated on him.  Maybe that was going to be exposed.  Maybe he found someone else and she didn't want to deal with the public humiliation.  We don't know.  It's the same with this guy. 

You never know what people are thinking.  I worked a job a few years ago and a 15 year old boy committed suicide.  I was one of the last people who talked to him.  I have wondered what I said to him.  If something I could have said could have made a difference.  Just a random comment to make him think life is worth living. NO ONE knew what he was planning or what was on his mind or how he was feeling.

It is the same with all these other people.  I know several people who have ended their life and most of the time it was a complete and total shock.  No one really saw it coming.

Kate Spade's husband released a statement yesterday.  They were already separated and it had nothing to do with any kind of cheating, etc.  They both decided they needed "space".  They stayed in constant communication and were raising their daughter together.  They ate meals together consistently as a family, took family vacations.   He said she had been suffering from anxiety and depression for years and had also been receiving treatment.   He said anything else that is said about their separation is false.    They had no plans to divorce.   He and their daughter had spoke with Kate the night before and she seemed fine.

I would never have thought that he would commit suicide.  He has always been a very focused and upbeat person on every show I have seen him on.

I am always saddened to hear someone committed suicide even though I also believe everyone has the right to commit it (so long as they don't take anyone else along). I have a girlfriend who tried to kill herself (unsuccessfully) 4 times and who now often says she is so glad to be alive today since she got a lot of her problems straightened out with help.
She super appreciates every moment of life she now has.

Chef and traveler Anthony Bourdain, 61 was found dead in his hotel in France of an apparent suicide.  I liked watching his shows as he would travel from country to country eating bizarre things.

I liked his show too! How very sad for his family and friends.

Anthony Bourdain and his show has nothing to do with what you say are "false stories".  He was a great man who wanted to share his love of food and culture with the world.  He was a humble man who loved his family and friends.
