Oh I keep thinking is all this work that we have been putting into my 03 trailblazer
we have been told that the engines are good but other parts keep breaking down.

we have probably put in a good $2000 in the last few years.

That's a very hard question vehicles are hard to determine sometime I just got rid of mine because I kept putting a lot of money in it and I just decided I could be putting this money towards something new and better and I'm glad I did good luck to you making this hard decision

I had a 2003 Ford Taurus it was a nice little car that I got for a good price but then last year I put 2k into it and then not quite a year later I was told it needed about that much again so for me at my age I decided to get a new vehicle. I love it so for me the deciding factor was coming up with thousands in cash to keep fixing it or have a nice vehicle with payments.  So I don't know I guess it depends on your circumstances.  Good luck figuring it out.

I'm driving a 2001 Caravan, So far I spent about 2000 on repairs but the intervals are far in between. For me it's worth it because I don't want the payments.

That's a very difficult decision to make. I would probably base that off of what my budget could afford and then explore my options. Best of luck trying to negotiate that hard choice.

I was in a similar situation a few years a ago and decided on a newer vehicle. Issues were getting worse which meant bigger repair bills... not worth it in my case

Sadly i have a car with a payment already so that we could have 2 cars. I would have to trade off my 03 blazer or get enough out of it to still somehow have the 2 cars.

Depends on how much you like the vehicle....I've put like $3,000 in my truck the last year and a half but I bought it new in '05 and only has 65,000 miles.

A lot was just normal upkeep except for the sparkplug issue I and other owners had with the 5.4 Triton engine....6 plugs broke while taking them out...the tune up alone was $1,000 of that $3,000!  :o :(

Good luck with the decision you have to make.  I know it is not an easy one.

If you're starting to put more money in to your vehicle than a payment would be, it's time to switch out the vehicle.

That depends, there are a lot of old rusty hulks dragged out of a field somewhere and restored into a ride to die for.
