Evernote
« on: June 21, 2018, 07:57:19 am »
Has anyone used the evernote app?  I'm starting to become so busy I'm thinking I need to have something keep me on task.  Other than having pieces of paper to keep track of I'm thinking this may be easier? Dunno - we'll see.  Reviews anyone?

I tried it for a while, but it bogged down my computer and was overkill for what I needed. I switched to a freeware version of Treepad Lite and it keeps all my notes organizes very well.

Yes I'm already feeling the "bog" from Evernote on my laptop.  Probably doesn't help I'm also amidst an itunes update.  I set it all up yesterday - and haven't even opened it up yet today to keep me on task.  Some bright idea I had.  Sigh.  If I don't acclimate to it I'll probably remove it from my drive.  No point in wasting space.

I haven't ever used it.  I have yellow post-a-notes every where!
Have a wonderful day!

I use Evernote mostly on my phone.  For instance, I'll be talking "books" with someone and get a strong recommendation.  So I'll quickly write the title in my Books file.  Or I'll see a photo of a storage unit (recently in Ikea) - snapped a pic and filed it in my Organization ideas.  Or a pic of an unusal pair of earrings to save for design inspiration.  Kinda like my own personal Pinterest, lol.  It really comes in handy for names of things that I know I'll forget the moment the conversation is over.  It costs $$ to synch evernote across more than 2 sites.  I really just keep it on my phone with a backup on my laptop.

There are a ton of note taking apps.  Or even list apps.  I have never used this one but use some of the others that are out there.  It's kind of easier to have it all in one place and with you all the time.

I have not used it. I still find posting post-it notes the easiest way to go for tasks.
I get a listing/task functionality on my Alexa that makes lists & reminders on my phone, & that seems to be easy enough with minimal effort.

I've been setting reminders in my phone for certain reoccurring things like watering my plants. I use my Google calendar to keep track of the rest.

Minerva:

It's good to see someone that not only reads books but discusses them in this day and age.

Good for you!
