A part of me feels bad for her, another part of me thinks she's doing this all to herself. Why should I feel bad for her? I empathize with starving children or the homeless, not another millionaire "musician" who's throwing it all away for drugs.

There are ppl who use to cope with their problems. Obviously she is under a lot of pressure in Hollywood, money or not people go through things. Drugs are a powerful substance, numbing you from problems. Sleeping away depression. I feel for her and hope she gets better.

I have to side with Brian on this one. This young lady was fairly talented, appeared to be financially stable, and had opportunities that so many people would be grateful for. Pretty much the same thing with Anthony Bourdain.  But the public will immortalize these people who selfishly make extremely poor choices without any regard for the harm this may have on the less fortunate. Copy cats will point to all that Lovato/Bourdain had, none of which the aspiring copy cat has, and come to the conclusion that if life is not good enough for her/Bourdain than it certainly isn't good enough for the copy cat.Fox News is quoting reactions from celebrities as "No one is more honest or brave". Seriously? Such a great message, let's all aspire to be brave/honest and seek the easy way out. Not seeing that quote on CNN, Reuters, BBC or the AP.

It's really sad that Demi is still struggling with drug abuse. She's a pretty girl and has talent. There's no reason for her to throw her life away like this. I pray for her to find strength through the Lord.

Representatives close to her have said it wasn't heroin, but that it was something else. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Whatever she is going thru that made her go that route, will still be there, overdosing on drugs is common and life scaring. She knows that deep down inside that doing this is and will never cure the problem, taking such drastic steps like that is showing others that this is the easy way out, but it's not.

Very sad in deed. I hate hearing about celebrities that think they have the power to do what they want and think they are invincible. Very sad!

So sad. I don't know why people have to waste their time and money on drugs. I don't like taking what the doctor prescribes, so I definitely won't buy and take any drug for fun. -smh
