Rain, Rain Go Away!
« on: August 13, 2018, 08:10:23 am »
In 3 weeks, we only had 3 days where it didn't rain. Towns that never flood are flooding. Two towns have been flooded 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It's horrible! They're calling for rain all week this week again.

I'm so glad we built our home way back from the road. The old house used to get flooded from the tiny creek in heavy rains...and we live in the middle of a  hill. Cliffs and hills are slipping and blocking the highways.

This has not been a very good summer. Either hot and humid or rain.

Where I lived yesterday there was a horrendous rain storm electric kept going off and back on.  I got up from lying down and realized half the house had power and half didn't and ofcourse the half that didn't involved the tv, internet, kitchen - I am not only disabled but worthless for knowing how to mess with the breaker box. So I sat here for hours until close to time to pick up son.  Thought wow I should go get a little something to eat at McDonalds and guess what their pay machine got knocked out and I didn't have any cash.  It has rained here every day for I don't know how long but yesterday was the worst.  Oh well all is well that ends well son got everything straightened out.

I actually welcome the rain! (Not for those in flooding conditions, of course). It has cooled things off around here a bit. Sometimes the rain brings hot and muggy humidity with it, but the rain we've been having has been very nice. We had a heavy thunderstorm yesterday morning around 4:00 and it was almost cold outside at 5:00 when I took a morning stroll. It was awesome!

Mother Nature bring the rain to our heatwave state.

We would love to have some of that rain  here.  We have had very little this summer. Things are so  brown and we will be gong into fall weather soon. Then of course it  will be even worse.  Have had a few fires around but most  all of us in our county are trying to do nothing to cause one either

Well, I think a season without precipitation is worse. Plant and insects can literally die of thirst as a result!

I have seen some places who have had tremendous amounts of rain all the flooding in the mudslides it's been terrible I know but here where I live we could sure use some rain and would welcome it right now just not all that flooding and stuff

I wish we could get some rain here but then again not so much to where there is severe flooding.

We live here in Georgia and have only got small little pop up showers here and there. Then it gets even Hotter. I would rather it not Rain at all. I like all of the Sunshine we can get. :)

We haven't had much rain at all in weeks.  In fact the grass is getting crunchy.  It's kind of typical for this area of the midwest.  But I hope we start getting some showers here and there for the sake of all of the farmers growing  corn, soy and beans.
