RIP Aretha

Aretha Franklin lost her battle with cancer today.  She shares a death-date with Elvis Presley.  He passed away on this date in 1977.  My daughter's best friend does the best impression of Aretha Franklin singing RESPECT.

Absolutely love me some Aretha Franklin and for that matter like Elvis.  I grew up in the rock era but those guys are classic cult idols and awesome music.  I guess 76 isn't a bad life span (I am almost 65 but I hope I live to be 100) but cancer is the pits maybe she could have lasted a lot longer.  Well peace and comfort for her family, friends and fans.

Watching the coverage.   Always loved her music.   She was a humble woman who loved her family and friends.   They showed a clip of her saying the most important thing she wants to be remembered for is that she is a good mother.  I'm sure she was.

She had an amazing voice and she will be very much missed it's kind of strange that today 41 years after Elvis the queen of soul dies may she always rest in peace

and the crazy part is someone in virgina got shot cause the day aretha died they were arguing about wheter or not halle berry played her in a movie this is a real news story

I couldn't believe it when I heard she had her first child at the age of 12 years old!  The second one at 14!!  She never would say who the father(s) were.
