I sure do wash mine. Not only to get any chemicals off but to get any germs off of the many hands which touched it before i bought it.

I grew up washing  all veggies and fruits, of course  for the most part they came right out of my garden, so they had dirt on them.  When picking  my veggies I always had a   bucket of clean water and put them in it  first to carry to the house and then would wash them again. The reason for putting them in the bucket of water was to keep them fresh and to keep the dirt from drying on them. Easier then to wash. Second reason is because while out in the garden I would spend time weeding.  My kids were always out with me and they were forever  munching on the fresh veggies and would dunk them in the water to get the dirt off if there was any, So I still wash everything. But am not  raising a garden anymore. City water is just not as good as well water for the plants and the heat staying up in the triple digits for days didn't help either.

Yes, I do wash my vegetables b before I store them but then I did a online search and saw this.....

To store fruits and vegetables safely at room
temperature:
• Do not wash them before storage. Instead,
wash them when you are ready to use
them. If the produce is very dirty, rinse it
and then dry it well before storing it.

  :glasses-nerdy:  :silly: I do wash my vegetables before I eat them or cook with them. Just something I've done for many years. Not only because of bacteria but for bugs and dirt too!   :glasses-nerdy:  :silly:

I always think its best to wash your veggies.  I mean even organic you will have to rinse to be sure.

Some things seem to go bad quickly if you wash ahead of time.  Some berries I only wash just before eating, but I do wash everything.  I have had gardens in the country and city, as long as you water the garden seems to like well or city water the same.

I always rinse my veggies even if it says it's pre-washed, and obsessively wash things with nooks and crannies. I've found dirt and aphids in the folds of kale. Worse, a bunch of grapes even after I gave it a cursory rinse had some white cottony stuff inside the cluster, and while I was trying to figure out what it was, a LIVE SPIDER crawled out of it. Grapes have not been appetizing to me for a few years now :/

Organic is the way to go, sorry to say! Is it more expensive? Yes! Is it healthier and worth paying more to keep your health? Yes!  I still wash my organic fruits and veggies only to wash away the dirt Not he pesticides and other toxic poisons. Food for thought! :)

This is something I always do.  I can't imagine cooking vegetables without washing them first.  You definitely want to get rid of any dirt or residue left on the vegetables before cooking them, otherwise you will taste it as you eat it, not a good thing.   :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover:
