Our dog has gone to doggie heaven!
« on: August 24, 2018, 03:14:32 pm »
We had our sweet, sweet dog for 18 years and could not have asked for a better dog.  He was a member of our family and I miss him everyday.  He's been gone a little over 2 weeks now and I swear I still hear him sometimes.  I know whenever I walk into the den or the bedroom where his beds were I still look for him there.  Our youngest daughter saved him from the local pound 18 years ago this past June 8th and when she moved out she couldn't bear to take him away from me and her daddy. He was a mixed breed about the size of a Jack Russell but not near as yappy.  Our entire family grieves for him and everyone of us will always will remember him, even our grandkids.

Awe, sorry to hear that. He was blessed to be adopted from the pound by such a caring family. I know the feeling of losing a pet which lived in your house for so many years. He had a long good life and may he rest in peace. Sending prayers to your family.

Hi Patti. Many of us can certainly relate. Its almost 2 months now we lost our Penny. My son rescued her from a lousy situation when she was about 2 and we had her for over 10 yrs.I wish she coulda hung on for a few more yrs,but she was treated like a queen by us.

You had yours for a longtime and i know its so tough to let go.Just remember the love you gave them wasnt in vain and i still am having a problem accepting the fact that God didnt make animals to live forever.I hope i understand that someday cos i know the pain we get when we lose them just like a loved one as in a family member, friend etc.

I'm so sorry, Patti.  What a beautiful home you gave to your beloved friend.  I feel your pain.  Our pets are such a special part of our lives and when we lose them, the heartache can be almost unbearable.

Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family.  I hope that time will ease your pain.

So sorry for your loss.  I have had to say good bye to several of our furkids and it's always hard.  I still miss our Golden who we had to put to sleep a couple of years ago.  He was about 17.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I also had to say goodbye to my dog almost a month ago. I know exactly what you mean when you still look for him in his usual spots. I do the same. Sometimes I get home from work and instinctively walk over to his spot in the living room to pet him and say hello, but he's not there. We still have his leash sitting on the bench by the door. I can't bear to put it away.

Thank you for rescuing him and giving him a good home and a nice long happy life.

So sorry,  I know the pain of losing a beloved furry family member.  I had to let my 16 yr old cat go after Thanksgiving last year.  The hole in my heart and in the house was tough.  At the urging of friends and family I went to the Humane Society just to look.  I found a very special boy who made (and makes) me smile.  He is very different than my old girl (who I still miss),  but he is pretty darn special in his own way!

Patti I am so very very sorry for your loss.  As a pet owner/lover I have lost so many so I understand how you feel.  They are not just pets, they are our family and we grieve for them.  Just try to remember how happy he was that your daughter rescued him, and how happy he made you.  I do believe there is heaven and we will see them again.

So sorry!   I suppose I shouldn't be so blue that my son's moving out and taking 2 of the family pets.  I'll miss them.
