No I don't faint, but I just don't like needles. I always look away when blood is drawn.

No but it did my husband almost every single time.  My youngest son went to donate blood recently and he fainted.  I don't have blood drawn if I don't have to because I don't have good veins.  However at my age and the meds I take my dr pushes me to have blood drawn every 3 months especially to see how my diabetes is doing.  Yuck.,

I used to donate all the time, but at some point I started feeling queezy when doing it, so I stopped. Last time I went in to have a little blood drawn at the doctors, I felt hot and sweaty afterward and had to lie down. I haven't fainted, but sometimes it seems like I have come close. I know others who have fainted though - not fun...

It doesn't bother me at all. Once when I was in my 20s, I had to go to the emergency room. The nurse was trying to draw blood but couldn't find a vein. I started giggling and couldn't stop, and they thought I was on drugs. (I wasn't.)

The problem i have with having blood drawn is that my veins are very small. so i have to drink a lot of water before hand.if i don't they can't find my veins and they end up taking it from  my hand . That is extremely painful! :pumpkin: :rose: :peace:

no not if they do it right the first time.  I have very small veins if they can find them at all,,  I will give them one chance in each arm,,  if they can't find it I walk out and will come back another time and find another person.

I normally just turn my head in the opposite direction. I prefer not to watch. The worst part is feeling the poke of the needle into the skin. :'(

I don't have a problem with fainting when I have blood drawn.  But I do have small rolling veins which causes a problem when a medical person is attempting to draw my blood.  They find a vein then all of a sudden it moves or they can't find a vein because my veins are so small.  I always request they use the butterfly needle when drawing my blood this seems to make such a difference.   :female: :female: :female: :female:

Not really faint but I still don't like it. I usually can't watch when they are drawing my blood.

Nope!  I have had to have a LOT of blood draws and they never bother me.

It's not something that I look forward to. . It doesn't bother me.  Just a part of life.  In fact I've found it more difficult to be brave when my kids have to have blood drawn.  My oldest has had to regularly go in for draws since she was 12 to keep an eye on T levels since she has hoshimoto's.  I learned with her that if I treated the process as if it were cool and amazing it wouldn't be so bad.  Did the same with my other 2 as well.  All 3 actually watch and find it facinating.

Getting blood drawn always makes me woozy, but I had to get a few more vials than usual taken at the doctor's yesterday and I woke up halfway through with the nurse looking at me funny.  Blood draws always take really long with me for some reason, they have trouble finding my veins and it comes out slow. I'm well hydrated and fed, I look the other way, it barely hurts and I'm not afraid of it... but something about the idea of it just makes my brain go "Nope, bye"

Do you faint from blood and needles?

It used to give me a little uneasy feeling when I donated blood.  I just looked the other way as the needle went into my skin, but then I was ok.

Now, I can watch the nurse insert the needle.
