budget
« on: October 03, 2018, 01:43:52 pm »
I have to sit down and make a budget and see if I can really afford everything that I have and see where I can make some cuts.

I don't look forward to this.

This is a very important decision to make and you will do great. it is also easier than you will anticipate . Just think of all the things  you  need like wifi and think of the things to cut down like take out if applicable . I wish you all the luck and keep your head up

List every thing that has to be paid like your rent, or house payment and all of your  utility bills and credit cards first, then take out for food, gas and other things that must be  paid, a little for  enjoyment and sock some into savings.

My boss taught me years ago how to make a budget and I do it every month I take what I get a month and then take off all my bills and if anything is left I put it in savings or I buy something that is needed for the home it's been really good for me to watch where my money is going and all the silly things I was spending it on

Make sure you decide what is absolutely necessary versus what is simply an extra and you just want.  Needs and wants are usually different.  They say that when you shop you should ask yourself that when you are truly trying to save money.

Yep. I agree with everything said too. Even if you have enough money for extras, it is good to have a budget to make sure you aren't wasting any of it by paying too much for something or paying for something you don't really need.

I recently had to do this when school started again just to see what we have to work with every month. It's very helpful to do it.

I feel so blessed that we have everything paid off so it is much easier to live within our budget.  It was a struggle for years.
Have a wonderful day!

It's helpful to have a budget and it's great if you can stick to it.  Try to have an emergency fund for unexpected things that crop up.

I have a very small income, and a very tight budget.

I make sure once or twice a month, that my bank account is balanced with my checkbook. Want to know exactly what I have.

I coupon coordinating with sales, and put aside what I can toward future car repairs, holidays, next year's garden etc.

No wiggle room here.
