It's a bad idea and will have a detrimental effect on society as a whole, but when majority rules over common sense at the ballot box - this is what you're going to get.

I think it should be legal for medical purposes only.  Put it in the Pharmacy and have it prescribed like our other drugs.  There are many of them that are worse than marijuana.

I don't agree with the legalization of RECREATIONAL marijuana, but have a different of the medical variety. Too many people high/drunk on pills and booze already to be giving a license to live in a constant high...

I think that legalized marijuana is far safer than legalized alcohol. I do not partake but see a nation that is somewhat fed up with too many regulations. I have seen far more angry drunks and rarely see an unhappy stoner. People would maintain the same level of high (not constant-so silly) than those that use alcohol to escape. I can not fathom marijuana having a more "detrimental' affect (people should use 'impact' when unsure about the difference between effect and affect) than alcohol. The considerably higher tax rate on marijuana must certainly be appealing to the "common sense" people. I live in Colorado (one of the first states to legalize marijuana) and find that the taxes get thrown in useless directions by administration and politicians any way.

I am not sure I like the idea of them driving. But before and  I mean way  before it was legal, my mother had cancer and  we were able to obtained some wacky cigs for her to help with her pain. She had trouble  swallowing her pain pills and we would have to smash them up for her to take. But the cigs helped ease the pain a lot.  It was against the law but a couple of policemen who were friends of the  family  got them for  me  for her to use. I have  smoked it. But hey as long as it helped her and the doctor was all for it we did it.

I don't think it's a terrible idea. Those that are going to use will use it whether it is legal or not. At least this way the state can collect taxes on it. It is only legal here for medicinal purposes.

I think I am 65 years old and smoked most of my life and would smoke now for sure if I could get it.  I never had a driving issue while high and neither did my husband.  Drinking unil you are impaired is not the same as smoking.  I believe marijuana was created by God for the use of our bodies and minds as well for that matter.  It is my opinion and others are certainly entitled to theirs.   8)

If it is legal a lot more people would use it and use it more often.

Most people who are driving impaired do not realize they are impaired. People who are drunk do not realize they are all over the road or driving the wrong way on the interstate until after the accident that kills 7 people and they wake up 3 days later and someone tells them what happened.  Anything that alters the way you think should not be allowed before driving.

Some years back a woman got onto a parkway going the wrong way.She smashed into an on coming car and when it was over 8 were dead including herself. Her blood showed booze and weed in it.

God is just a title. There are many gods but the TRUE God DOES NOT approve of smoking weed or getting drunk!!
