Vacation time
« on: November 20, 2018, 04:50:17 am »
Do you have a lot of vacation time to use before Dec 31st?
Or does your time roll over to the next year?

Mine rolls over, but I started a new job about 3 months ago, so I do not have too much and it will stay there for next year's vacation.  My hubby does have to use his by the end of the year or loose it, so he will be taking about 2 weeks off at the end of the year, since his company provides a few extra holidays around Christmas he works around them and takes his rest of the days at the same time

My busy-body co-worker told me yesterday that I would lose my 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks of sick days if I don't use them by the end of the year.  She said "it's the rules".  I told her I guess I would be off until next year if that is the case.  My boss (who is the company owner) told me a couple of years ago that I could carry over my unused days whenever I wished.
Have a wonderful day!

Unfortunately I work part time so have no benefits.  I am fortunate though in I am off from right now until next Tuesday.  No pay, but Paradise for a few days on Sanibel Island!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We cannot roll over any days and I still have a few left. Sounds like I might be taking some Tuesday's in December off to go Christmas shopping.

I am retired so I do not get vacation days anymore. I do have a part time job which I can go on vacation anytime I want to. However since my husband and I retired our full time jobs we do not have as much income therefore we may not take many vacations.

I have to use the remaining vacation time before the year ends or I'll lose them.

I have to use my accrued vacation time (Paid Time Off) hours before the end of the company's fiscal year.  The fiscal year ended September 30.
I am able to "borrow forward" up to 40 hours from the coming year if I haven't accrued enough at the time of a requested paid time off day or days.

I still have 3 days left and will use it next week. Lost it if not used this year.

My vacation doesn't roll over.  I have three days left that I'm going to take the beginning of the month then I have days off before and after those three days so starting next week I'll have 10 days off.  Not sure I will go anywhere.
