Just a Listener
« on: October 05, 2009, 05:30:16 pm »
Hi, I have had many health problems recently, right now I am having difficulty hearing due to severe congestion. My boyfriend says it is my fault...I went to doctor's today. There is nothing else that can be done right now. I can't leave because I still can't walk from foot surgery (which is "my fault" ) as well, and I had female surgery 10/1. Any coping advice at all???

Drink Orange Juice and lots of water! Take some ibuproferin (sp?) every few hours and relax. Don't stress yourself out as this can lengthen the time you are sick. Do something constructive if you have the energy (read a book/draw/write/etc.).

Foot surgery? What happened? Did you fall on it wrong or something?

Oh and if you're boyfriends being an *bleep*, break his foot. Seriously...who says that to their gf?

My advice is to dump your boyfriend.
I am not joking in the least. :]

Try dealing with the congestion first with a cold or allergy/sinus remedy. I have also found it useful to chew raw ginger and take goldenseal pills for congestion. When the inflammation goes down. you might try one of the commercial ear-clearing remedies, although I suspect that when the congestion clears, so will your ears. In the meantime, count your blessings. At least you can more easily tune out that obnoxious boyfriend.

Hi,
I have to say I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time. I hope you feel better soon. Why is your boyfriend being such an *bleep*? Is that how he usually is? If so, I say drop him as soon as you feel better and recover from your surgery. If he's this inconsiderate now, it certainly won't get any better if you entertain ideas of marrying him. Just my 2 cents.

I got out of the hospital 6 months ago after being hit by a car, they told me it would be a long road, and I had to take it one day at a time. I had a broken leg, a broken foot on the other side, and surgery on my shoulder. I was in a wheelchair for months, and able to move a whole lot. but through it all, I looked at it as a time for blessing, I looked at the fact that I could be dead, or even paralyzed completely, there are always worse things  that can happen to us, if we look at the good things we have, instead of the things we have not, we can learn to cope and deal with anything using patience and faith. :angel11:

All you can do is follow the doctors advice and take good care of yourself. If I were you I would find a new man! He sounds like a jerk!

Well first off like the other poster said, dump the unsupportive boyfriend.  You may find you feel better just doing that.  Stress and conflict is known to add to pain sensitivity!
