We are nearing the three week mark for this shutdown...all because this idiot Trump does not want to abandon (or at least compromise) on this stupid border wall of his. In any event, at least I am still getting paid. But I sympathize with those that are suffering financially because of this political chaos.

Trump has compromised on the "wall." But he won't settle for $1 which is what Pelosi will give him....until they pass the bills to reopen the government. Then, as Democrats often do, they would even renege on the $1. It's also disgusting that the delegation went to Puerto Rico last weekend and it looks like Menendez (who was recently acquitted of sexual assault) seemed to be enjoying the "work" they went to do and now this week, planned to go to how many countries on another "informational" tour overseas. Let's not forget Pelosi vacationing in Hawaii....seems like they all really care, doesn't it?

No, the Democrats don't care. if they did, they'd be in negotiations every day. When was the last "negotiation" where Pelosi decided she would not give any money for the border? She and Schumer stated Trump banged his fist on the table and walked out. That's another lie. When he asked if he opened the government would they negotiate funding and she said no, why would he stay in a "going nowhere negotiation?"

It's time people wake up and realize what's going on in this country. So many underhanded tricks have been pulled by the Dems over the years....all the way back to Reagan and the immigration reform.

I also think the TSA workers who are calling off sick are endangering this country by not showing up for work. It's more like a strike they are on and no employer pays their workers who are on strike....why should the taxpayer pay those workers when they aren't doing their job? The rest of the workers who ARE working without pay will get their money when the government is reopened, but those workers who aren't showing up or calling in sick should NOT get their back pay. >:(

Senate should NOT get paid while on shutdown! :(

Neither should the House, especially Pelosi and Schumer.

Taxes aren't being raised, freedoms aren't being taken away--as far as I'm concerned they can stay shutdown.

I'll second this !!

All I can say is stand firm, Mr. President.  Build the wall!!!!!  Let's see Pelosi tear down HER wall and let all the illegals just walk in and take her stuff!

This has gone on way too long. They need to come to some kind of agreement and end the shutdown.

Wonder how long the shutdown would last if the workers just didn't show up... No pay, no work.

The shutdown is now the longest ever.....some people are looking to worth other jobs while they are furloughed...such as being substitute teachers!

I think this whole thing was planned so a bunch of people could get a vacation. They are all really thanking trump under their breathe, I am sure of it.

I hope the shut down ends very soon. I feel bad for those people working without pay. The effects of the government shut down eventually affect the whole country the longer it continues.
