I guess this isn't going to be a popular response but I have limited sympathy for these federal employees.  I mean they traditionally get high wages and should prepare for the unexpected just like us folks who don't have such high incomes.  Sorry don't mean to be mean.

Just because you speak the truth doesn't mean you are being mean.

There are some people out there who have been working just as hard and just as much as those federal gov't workers and haven't received a paycheck in six - eight - ten months. Yet they still work on the hope that it will pay off at some point in the future... Some people would love it if they only had to go 30 days without a paycheck!

Some type of support?  Nobody on government assistance was effected.  And they were not trying to "scare" anybody to get support.  This has happened over and over and it will happen again in 3 weeks.  The two parties do not work together.  If an agreement cannot be reached (and I doubt it will) the government will shut down again.

This has happened with every president for the past several terms.  I use to think it was a big deal.  But now it is just a thing.

Trump should've just given an executive order in the first place. The Dems are never gonna compromise, so just get it over with. Obama certainly issued enough of them.

Most likely I figure it will shut down again Feb 15 and he will declare a state of emergency.  Pelosi said today they WILL NOT give ANY money toward a border wall.

Wall or no wall you have to be a complete idiot to not see there is a problem and a crisis in this country.  OR maybe these people do not live where they are seeing first hand the thousands and thousands of illegals who are flooding our country.  They refuse to speak English, they hate the American people, and the most certainly do get government benefits.  That costs the tax payer (people like me who are working) money.

Nobody is saying to block all immigrants from coming to the United States.  They are saying come here the right way. The legal way.  I cannot grasp what is so hard to understand about that.

As a person that was affected by the shutdown, AND WILL NOT BE PAY BACK, since I am a Federal Government Contractor, I can tell you it hurts.  If you do not live in the area you do not know, the cost of living around here is as High as NYC, and most of us live paycheck to paycheck.  Federal Contractors will not get any $$ back for 35 days of no work, and that is $$ lost.  And if the families have 2 members on the same boat is when it get worse, so please do not Criticize how people can survive without a pay check if you do not know that person living conditions.  I have some savings and my hubby was working, but still without the payback I will not be able to pay my full mortgage this Month and nobody is going to give some $$ to do that.

And Trump will be vilified for imposing a :::gasp::: second government shutdown for this immoral wall and then demonized for declaring a fake emergency. Pelosi and Schumer will continue to lie their tails off about how unreasonable and maniacal Trump is and how much they care about their constituents - all the while refusing to negotiate in the least.       yada yada yada.     Let's just get on with it all and see what new socialist declares Presidential candidacy for 2020.

Exactly.  I saw this morning where yet another dumocrat is declaring to run for president. What is that? Like 30 now? lol

You know what is really sad is the things that are being passed on the side lines that no one is paying attention to because they are so focused on fighting about a border wall. And I am SO SICK of hearing it called Trump's Wall.  The majority of Americans are for the wall. Of course you won't hear that from the liberals.

I am no longer surprised by the idiotic things that "President" Trump does. I was surprised he actually caved in to the Democrats...only for the madness to continue if neither side can reach a consensus by February 15. This is the very reason why I am relocating to another country after I reach retirement. I realize that Trump will no longer be president by then (Thank God), but I do not want to take any chances, LOL.

He didn't "cave' in.  He was stupid though because he should not have believed what that stupid pelosi said.  She/they had no intentions of discussing anything.  I don't get how you just said neither side will compromise but yet you still want to solely blame Trump.

I also cannot for the life of me grasp how anyone can think if clinton had won she would have been a good leader.  SMH.  Also doubt very seriously you will move to another country.  Just like all the idiots who were screaming it if Trump won the presidency.  Well he did, and they are all still here.

You may as well get ready because yes he will shut it back down Feb 15th and he needs to.  Then he will do exactly what he said and declare an National Emergency.  Which obviously he needs to do.  He needs to do like the last idiot in there done and use his MIGHTY PEN AND PHONE and just shove everything through as an Executive Order.  If it was okay for obama to do it then it is okay for Trump to do it.
