Baby, It's Cold Outside!
« on: January 24, 2019, 06:07:13 pm »
We are in a winter weather advisory again.....this time a Wind Chill Advisory.

It's COLD.

Temperature is -11.
The "real feel" is -26.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

You must live near me. Single digits or below zero until a week from Saturday, when it climbs to a whopping 15 degree high. Currently -6°F with a wind chill of -25°F. Next week the highs are still below zero.  :(

My weather is also colder than normal but not as cold as it is where you are.  Both of you please bundle up and stay warm.

Do take care and bundle up!  That is really cold.  Frostbite can lead to a loss of fingers, toes.  That kind of weather almost takes your breath away.  I hope you don't have to get out in it.

It's also cold here the other day. The lowest it went overnight was 1 degree Fahrenheit.

sure glad it is  not that  cold here. But we have had crazy weather here. Cold for a couple of days and then  we pop up to above average.  It just  does not seem to settle down. No wonder we have so many sick people in our community.  It is  cold today but not windy. Man I hate that wind. It just goes through you.

I try my best to avoid staying out long, when it gets like this.  Just long enough to get between house and car, car and building.

It's currently -22°F and 10-20 mph wind = Wind chill of -51°F

And the temp is still dropping!  :o

Currently we are at -13 with wind chill of -45F.   Looking like -33 overnight with wind chill at just -47F.

I am so glad I work inside and not on the farm.  The farmers struggle to keep their animals warm and the water open.

You are right, seesawing,  your breath does almost get taken away when you step outside.

The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.
Hypothermia or death can also occur if precautions are not taken...

Luckily, this too shall pass.   Looking like 9 degrees on Thursday, moving up to 27 on Friday and 41 on Saturday!!

We had to close our office in Minnesota today and have everyone work from home. Schools and stores are closed. I hope everyone remains safe.

It's 19 degrees here, with a wind chill that makes it feel like 12.
When the temperature drops, I think about the homeless people who are living on the streets.
As cold as I am, there is always someone who has it worse.

That cold is headed our way and I don't want it!
I am hoping the actual temp won't  be below zero but I know the wind chill will be!
Hope everyone stays safe and warm :pumpkin: :peace:
