Getting a 1099
« on: January 30, 2019, 05:58:17 am »
I know a few people on this site have said they have received a 1099 from either Fusion Cash or another site like this where they earn money online.

My question is "IF you get a 1099 from an online site like this have you already received your 1099 or when do you usually receive it?"

I don't need people to tell me they have until the 31st to mail them out.  I know that. Most places do not wait until the very last day to mail out tax papers.  I want to know from people who have actually received a 1099 in the past or even this year WHEN did you get it?

I have one I am suppose to get but I have not received it and have tried to contact the company but cannot get anyone to respond and the only one response I got said I will get it in 2020.  SMH

We received my husband's 1099 for his Social Security a couple of weeks ago, but I still haven't received mine.  I wonder if the government shutdown had anything to do with that?  Usually you get W2s and 1099s toward the middle of the month.   Good luck!

I am not talking about social security.  I am asking about survey sites like this one.  I have already received everything else.

Okay. That makes me feel better.  It was on another site.  I was WAY over $600 lol.  I guess maybe they will mail them out on the 31st which is the deadline.  I have been trying to contact someone and can't get anyone to answer me.

If they didn't ask you for any info I wouldn't worry about it. Most of them when you get close to or are going to go over $600 with your current cash out will ask for a W9 and will not allow you to cash out until you give them that info.  I have only went over $600 one time.  I have another site I am working on and I expect to go over $600 this year. I have already cashed out for $75 in Jan alone and cashed out for $25 in Dec.  If I keep doing really well I will go over on this site.

By law it has to be post marked by the 31st though. But I am not sure of the exact amount they will use so I cannot file until I get it.  I may end up having to guesstimate and go on. I have a paper trail of what I think it should be and of all my attempts to contact someone.

Got an email from FC two days ago that I could download and print my out for 2018.  Was easy to do just clicked on the link and the PDF came up and was able to print it.   Have another site that I am still waiting on but have not received it.  I did have to fill on the 1099M and send it back to them.  So not sure when I get that one.

I don't think sending it in an email is fair because it is easy to over look.  The site I am referring to I get a TON of emails from and when I get 30 survey invites a day and half of them you don't qualify for sometimes I just delete all of them.  I will go back and look on that site and see if I see anything that looks like it may be a link to download the 1099.  That would be fine if I know where to get it. Thanks for that insight.  I will check in to seeing if that is available. But with others saying they are still waiting on them from sites like these that makes me feel better.

If I don't get mine by the time I need it I usually fill out a help ticket to ask.

There is no way to fill out a help ticket.  As I said in my OP I have emailed them several times and also called on the phone and left messages as instructed and NO ONE is getting back to me.  I have seen people post online that their "customer service" totally sucks.  I had never had an issue and only needed to contact them once in the past and they actually answered the phone immediately.  And have always answered emails.  I don't know what the problem is right now.

Others have said they have not received them yet (from various sites) so I guess I will give it til a few days in Feb.  I am not waiting until April to file.  If I don't have anything by the middle of Feb I will just go ahead and file and hope for the best. If they turn in a different amount I have proof of what info I had on my own.  Some places wait until the 30th or the 31st to mail stuff out even though they have it laying there ready. SMH

WELL DUH!

I understand how it works.  My questions was are there other people who are suppose to get these that have not received them yet.  I knew several people on here have said they are getting a 1099 from more than one site.  I just wondered if other people were still waiting on a 1099 from sites like this.  And several people have said they were.  That made me feel better.  And yeah you will get it unless it gets lost in the mail or they put the wrong address on the 1099. It happens.  Then who ever gets it has your full name, address, and social security number.  I just noticed that my full social is on ALL of the W2s that I have received.  And don't tell me people would not open it if they get it in their mail box.

I did finally get a response and all they said was they have already been mailed out and I should receive it the first week of Feb. AND... If I have not received it by the 2nd week of Feb to contact them back...

SO I assume that means it was mailed today. lol

Also just curious as to if any of you who are getting the 1099s if you get them from more than one site?  Do you end up having to pay at the end of the year?

That depends on how much you made the entire year over all if you pay or not

You PAY either way.  If you are paid income you pay taxes on it.  The question, which I will know the answer to tonight as far as I am concerned, was, IF YOU have received a 1099 from doing sites like this when you file your taxes do you end up owing the government.  Let me explain further because people seem to not grasp what I am saying.....

Most people get a refund back.  When you do sites like this and you get a 1099 you have not paid the taxes on that money so you will pay at the end of the year and the money you pay on the money earned will come out of your refund.  My question was - If you do sites like this and IF you get the 1099 because you were forced to report it because you went over $600 did you end up owing on your taxes instead of getting a refund.  I am not asking people to guess what they think will happen in my case because you do not know my situation or the amount of money I am talking about.  The question is for others on the forum Do you break even or still get money back or do you end up having to pay to settle your tax score because of doing sites like this.  I know several have said they earn enough doing stuff like this to rec the 1099.

Some people end up owing every year for whatever reason.  It seemed like a simple question but maybe not.

You have been on here for years and NOW you're asking this ::) The government already knows how much you make and what can be taxed. Good luck. 8)
