Cleaning Self or Hire?

I often think of hiring someone to clean my house bi-weekly then I end up doing it myself which gives me a kind of satisfaction that I am contributing to the house to be clean.

When I had my own business and worked so much and was a caregiver to my mom a the same time, I had hired  people to clean. I loved it. Wish I could afford it now. I can't do it all myself since I can't stand or walk well.By the time I vacuum my great room combination (kitchen, dining and living room 24 x 28), I'm done for a week or more. The other rooms are hit-and-miss. The help used to come once a week but near the end, they suggested bi-weekly because it stayed so clean.

If I could afford a housekeeper, I would not be doing Fusion Cash for extra money.

I would definitely clean my own house. I try to be as independent as possible; if I can save money while doing so, even better. There are very few things that I would pay a professional to do. Cleaning my house is not one of them.

I can't afford to get a housekeeper but I think if I could I still wouldn't hire one.  I don't like the idea of a stranger being in my home and handling my things.

Man I would love to be able to afford someone to come in and clean my house even once a month would be awesome also I would love to have someone come in and cook I hate to cook and now it is just me I always make too much when I cook and I hate leftovers so most the time now I eat out so I don’t have to cook. I wish I’d been born rich instead of so darn good looking LOL

Even if I could afford someone to clean for me I would rather do it myself.  Even when my husband helps I still go back over things and check that they are done.  Would be a waste a money for me because I would probably redo it.

Why not save the money, maybe in the future we can buy a robot to that work...

I have someone come in a couple of times a year to help deep clean and declutter.  Most of the time though, I do it myself.

Beware about someone coming to clean your house, they might actually clean you out

I've thought about this I would say the feeling you get from doing it yourself would definitely make it worth just doing it yourself if its not too difficult.

I'm perfectly capable of cleaning my own home.  It would just be laziness on my part if I hired someone.

I way out how much the service costs versus how much my current night time/weekend job is paying on an average hourly basis or if I am taking vacation time from my day time job and need a true break. When my  kids were still at home (they are currently off at college) we would clean the house ourselves and bring in a cleaning lady once every six weeks for a deep clean. We used to have a team of three cleaners come every two weeks but found that the level of cleanliness began to diminish. They coming late and leaving early. We also had a cleaning lady that wanted a paid month's vacation. I told her that I would pay her not to clean my house but would also issue her a 1099 contractor income statement so that she could start paying taxes on her income. She opted not to take the vacation time.

I clean my own house. I definitely don't like strangers in my home and handling my personal things.
