No less than 44 different Hill’s Science Diet dog foods were recalled. Each was found to contain dangerously high levels of vitamin D.
Which meant…
Dogs eating one of these defective foods were at grave risk of kidney failure.
Even death.
Sadly…
The pets in greatest danger of experiencing serious problems like these were the ones who ate the tainted foods repeatedly.
At every meal. They never had a chance.

If companies didn't make mistakes there be any reason to have a product recall. Too much greed thinking about the dollar then producing quality products for people to buy these days. But in general, there was only one time for pet food I had to take food back to the store because it was reported in the news killing animals

Can't be too careful, this site has a lot of Pet Food info, seems unbiased, and will alert us if a Dog Food is recalled.  Can't help wondering about Cat Food though, never have seen a site for them.

Central Aquatics of Franklin, Wisconsin is recalling 96 cases of Aqueon Betta Food (item number 100106051 sold in a .95 oz jar) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

Consumers who may have purchased Aqueon Betta Food, with manufacturing and expiration dates of 06/04/2019 (EX04JUN22 expiration date) and 06/05/2019 (EX05JUN22 expiration date) are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Central Aquatics at 1-888-255-4527.

Fish with Salmonella infections are not well documented and fish carrying salmonella typically do not show any signs of disease.
The Aqueon Betta Food, that is the subject of this recall, was distributed to Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania via distribution centers.
The Aqueon Betta Food, as referenced above and the subject of this recall, is sold only in a 0.95 oz plastic jar with the expiration dates of EX04JUN22 and EX05JUN22, item number 100106051, UPC Code 0 15905 06051 6, and manufacturing dates of 06/04/2019 and 06/05, 2019 (see pictures for easier identification).

Company Announcement
Growers Express takes issues of food safety seriously and is issuing a voluntary recall of select fresh vegetable products in an abundance of caution and in the interest of protecting its customers and end consumers. The fresh vegetable products include packaged varieties of butternut squash, cauliflower, zucchini and a butternut squashed based veggie bowl. Please refer to the detailed chart below for specific product names and retailers.
The products originate from a Growers Express production facility in Biddeford, Maine and were distributed to the states referenced in the chart below. The voluntary recall was issued due to the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. There are no reported illnesses.
Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Most of the affected products are labeled with a "Best If Used By" Date of June 26 - June 29, 2019. No other Growers Express products are impacted or part of this recall. This recall does not affect or include any Green Giant? canned or frozen vegetable products.
"The safety of our consumers is our first priority," said Tom Byrne, President of Growers Express. "We self-reported the need for this recall to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and stopped production immediately after being notified of a single positive sample by the Massachusetts Department of Health. We are deep sanitizing the entire facility and our line equipment, as well as conducting continued testing on top of our usual battery of sanitation and quality and safety tests before resuming production."
Consumers who purchased any of the products listed below from the affected sell by dates or with an unreadable date code are urged not to consume them and to throw the products away.
