https://www.consumerreports.org/food-safety/leafy-greens-with-listeria-sold-at-major-supermarkets/

A new Consumer Reports test of 284 samples of fresh greens—such as lettuce, spinach, and kale—found six samples tainted with Listeria monocytogenes, a potentially deadly bacteria. The samples were purchased at several grocery store chains including Acme, Costco, Hannaford, and Whole Foods.

Two of these samples were packaged, prewashed greens—a spinach and an organic spinach-spring mix. The other four were loose heads or bunches of green kale, green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, and spinach.

“While it may not be surprising to find listeria in a small percentage of leafy green products that are tested, it is always concerning to find bacteria that can make people sick in foods that aren’t meant to be cooked,” says Karen Wong, M.D., medical officer in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Enteric Diseases Epidemiology Branch.

I had a recent recall on my car.  It had something to do with the windshield wipers.  Had the car for three years and the wipers work fine not sure what it was exactly.

I hate to hear about recalls of stuff I've bought. It is so irritating when they say to either discard the product or return it for a full refund. Why should I have to go through the hassle of returning the item for just the amount the item cost in the first place? I should also be compensated for the time (gas, wear on my vehicle) it takes to return the stupid thing. I have to do all the work and I get nothing for it.

I've heard of multiple recalls in recent years (e.g.. food, automobiles). Thankfully, however, I haven't been affected by any of them.

Tyson Recalls Nearly 40,000 Pounds of Chicken

(Our product safety information is produced by our editors and some content sourced from information provided by the respective company directly and government regulatory agencies. If this is a recall we encourage you to contact the company directly for complete information.)
(Reuters) - Tyson Foods Inc is recalling nearly 40,000 pounds of its Weaver chicken patties after some consumers found pieces of rubber in the product, the no. 1 U.S. meat processor said.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Thursday classified the recall as Class 1, the strictest form of recall where use of the product may cause serious health consequences or death.
A Tyson spokeswoman said the company did not know how rubber from machines used for processing the product ended up in the patties and declined to disclose how many customers reported finding the contaminant.
There were no reports of injuries or illnesses associated with the affected product, Tyson said.
The voluntary recall includes 26 oz. bags of Weaver cooked chicken patties produced this January.
The recall comes a little over three months after the company pulled close to 12 million pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strips from the market over contamination concerns.
(Reporting by Uday Sampath in Bengaluru)

Tyson Foods is recalling more than 39,000 pounds of Weaver fully cooked chicken breast patties with rib meat after consumers complained about finding pieces of a mechanical seal or gasket in the product.
The recalled chicken is packaged in 26-ounce bags with a best buy date of January 31, 2020.
The recalled chicken patties were sent to distribution centers in 10 states

Where are you seeing all of these?  I don't even see them on the news.  Not that seeing it on the news means it is real.
