It seems that so many businesses are having recalls on different products/items.

I used this "SportMix" dog food for many years with my Lab 80lbs so we bought about two bags a month from the Feed Store (Cheaper than grocery or Petsmart).  No way they would get notice of this!  Nor notify the consumer!  I am grateful this newsletter emails me every recall that is issued in the US!

Weis Markets today said it has issued a recall for:

10,869 containers of Weis Quality Cookies and Cream Ice Cream (48 oz.), and 502 bulk containers of Klein's Vanilla Dairy Ice Cream (3 gallon)
because the products may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically metal filling equipment parts. There has been one report of a customer who discovered an intact piece of metal equipment in the Weis Quality Cookies and Cream Ice Cream (48 oz). There is concern of an additional piece of equipment present in the ice cream product(s) possibly presenting a choking hazard.

The Weis Quality Cookies and Cream Ice Cream (in 48 oz. containers) product has been removed from sale. It was sold in 197 Weis Markets' stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and West Virginia.

Never mind the fact of metal particles in the product getting past the QA department at the factory - how does the filling machine still operate and not immediately shut down when an intact piece of metal equipment falls off into one of the containers of ice cream? Wouldn't that disrupt the automated process in some way where a person whose job is to monitor the line would notice that there is a problem?

Also, the fact that a customer discovered it ... seems to say that production kept moving along; product was shipped out to stores; freezers were stocked; customer bought product; etc. That doesn't happen in the span of just a few hours.

Hopefully someone got fired over this!

Those Hot Pockets in your freezer could contain something more dangerous than piping hot cheese.

Approximately 762,615 pounds of the recalled Hot Pockets were shipped to stores across the country.

Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling certain pepperoni Hot Pockets over concerns they may be contaminated with pieces of glass and hard plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday.

The Class I recall applies to 54-ounce 12 packs of pepperoni Hot Pockets with a best by date of February 2022 and lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614. The establishment number "EST. 7721A" appears inside the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging.

Ford Ordered to Recall 3 Million Vehicles Due to Potential Air Bag Concerns

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The U.S. Department of Transportation ordered Ford Motor to recall 3 million older vehicles due to concerns over airbag inflators in the vehicles.
According to Ford, the recall may cost them an estimated $610 million.
The recall was ordered following the NHTSA denial to the 2017 Ford petition seeking to avoid recalling the vehicles.

Ford Motor Co. will recall 3 million vehicles over potential concerns with their airbag inflators.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) ordered Ford earlier this week to issue the recall due to driver-side airbag inflators issues. The airbags could burst during a crash and send potentially deadly metal fragments, according to a CNBC report.

According to the automaker, the recall will cost them an estimated $610 million.

In 2017, the NHTSA denied a petition by Ford Motor seeking to avoid recalling the vehicles with the potentially dangerous airbags. Auto supplier Takata produced the airbags.

The auto safety agency will also order Mazda to recall and repair driver airbags in about 5,800 of their own vehicles.

Very helpful, thanks for sharing the post. Recently, the Hot Pockets recall caught my attention as our family used to like this product and my son still likes this product.

I had a recall a couple years ago for some wine that I purchased for a gift. Some bottles had glass in them. By the time I got the recall it was gone.

My mother was the same way and I understand it now; if you can't use the product you should be reimbursed.

The recalls are getting ridiculous.  And I love how they always say oh if you have this just throw it away.
NO, I will take it back to the store and they can give me a refund. And they can go back on the supplier. And eventually it goes back to you the person(s) who produced the bad product.  Some of the things that are happening I do not see how in the world it can get out of the factory that way.

Did they assign a replacement?

They recalled my high blood pressure meds which I am not happy about at all.

Stores here if a product is recalled and you bought it before the recall they have to replace it no questions asked even if the product that's replacing it is of higher cost. Recalls are annoying but there a must to keep us safe, animals safe and what not.
