What ever happened to quality control?  Way too many grocery recalls.  I have two recalls on my pick-up, fixable things.

I get a news email sometimes about recalls but have never had the products except a while back when they had all the lettuce recalls. I did not eat or buy salads for along time

Taco Bell recalls over 2 million pounds of seasoned beef Over Possible Metal Shavings Contamination

https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddrink/foodnews/taco-bell-recalls-over-2-million-pounds-of-seasoned-beef/ar-AAIOATG

https://ktla.com/2019/10/14/usda-recalls-taco-bells-seasoned-beef-over-possible-metal-shavings-contamination/

Taco Bell has stopped serving seasoned beef at dozens of restaurant locations across the United States over concerns the meat product may be contaminated with metal shavings.

The product in question was produced at one plant location on only one of two lines used to make the seasoned beef that Taco Bell uses in its tacos and burritos. The product was sent to distribution centers in Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Virginia, according to Taco Bell.
Taco Bell says that the product has been removed from all of the affected restaurants across 21 states in the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast.

Fortunately,  that problem hasn't occurred in my neck of the woods.  I thought businesses always have inspectors checking the foods before sending them out.

Fortunately,  that problem hasn't occurred in my neck of the woods.  I thought businesses always have inspectors checking the foods before sending them out.

They are suppose to have a QA department but like most places it is just a job.  Explain how a company can run a product for almost 24 hours that should contain red peppers but instead contains green peppers and NO ONE notices.  Even though the product is checked EVERY HOUR.  The product never left the facility and instead of donating to a food bank was thrown out.  If I were the plant manager heads would roll.  For this to have happened paper work also had to be falsified.

So between just pure evil (and a lot of the contamination is on purpose) and people just not caring it is not hard for this to happen.  I think we are going to see more and more of the purposely contaminated foods.

I don't think they'll give you a hard time about a recall refund.
I'd refund it too.

I also agree. If I buy something and they say its a recall, I am gonna get a refund. I work for my hard earned money and I am not gonna throw it away. Let the store get credit for it :)

https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2019/11/07/two-million-pounds-chicken-recalled-metal-contamination/

WA (CBSDFW.COM) — Simmons Prepared Foods, Inc. is recalling more than two million pounds of chicken products over fears they “may be “contaminated” with metal.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the contaminated items were produced between October 21, 2019 and November 4, 2019.

The contaminated products include several ready-to-cook items, including whole chicken, wings, and breast meat. The notice says the tainted meat was shipped to locations in Oklahoma, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

FSIS officials are concerned some products may be frozen and in institutional freezers. Institutions that have purchased the products are being urged not to serve them. Officials say the items should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

So far, there have been no confirmed reports of any health issues related to consumption of the recalled chicken products.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling a select lot of half gallon Butter Crunch Ice Cream produced on a specific line on August 26, 2019 in its Sylacauga, AL plant because of the possibility the products may contain a foreign object.
Blue Bell discovered the issue when it was notified by a consumer of the presence of a piece of a plastic tool in a half gallon of Butter Crunch Ice Cream. The company investigation revealed the broken tool was inadvertently incorporated into the production process in a small amount of product. In an abundance of caution, the company is recalling a full day of production of this flavor from this manufacturing facility.
The Butter Crunch Ice Cream half gallons produced in Sylacauga can be identified by the following code located on the top of the packaging lid: 082621222. An image of the affected product is included below.
