Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling a select lot of half gallon Butter Crunch Ice Cream produced on a specific line on August 26, 2019 in its Sylacauga, AL plant because of the possibility the products may contain a foreign object.
Blue Bell discovered the issue when it was notified by a consumer of the presence of a piece of a plastic tool in a half gallon of Butter Crunch Ice Cream. The company investigation revealed the broken tool was inadvertently incorporated into the production process in a small amount of product. In an abundance of caution, the company is recalling a full day of production of this flavor from this manufacturing facility.
The Butter Crunch Ice Cream half gallons produced in Sylacauga can be identified by the following code located on the top of the packaging lid: 082621222. An image of the affected product is included below.
It's a shame about Blue Bell.  I used to get the vanilla once in a great while.  I don't think any of the recalls have been for the vanilla flavors but the company in general has had more than one recall.  That's too much for me.

Don’t eat romaine lettuce from California’s Salinas Valley, CDC warns
Officials say it may be contaminated with dangerous type of E. coli bacteria that has sickened 40 people in 16 states.

They also say not to eat the leafy green if the label doesn't say where it was grown.

“Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, it is critically important to avoid buying or eating romaine lettuce from the Salinas growing area so you can protect yourself and your family.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration told consumers to throw away any romaine lettuce they may already have purchased. Restaurants should not serve it, stores should not sell it, and people should not buy it, if it was harvested from Salinas, a growing area in Northern California. It doesn’t matter if it is chopped, whole head, precut or part of a mix.

Most romaine lettuce products are now labeled with a harvest location showing where they were grown. Officials said to throw out lettuce if it doesn’t have a label specifying where it’s from.

While I dont do much shopping, i have heard nothing about recalls. That means that there are people out there who have recalled products who probably don't know. They should do something to make it more well known about product recalls.

Tuna King Medallions Recall For Elevated Histamine Levels Expanded November 25, 2019
by Linda Larsen Leave a Comment

Northern Fisheries of Little Compton, Rhode Island,  of frozen, wild-caught yellowfin Tuna King Medallions for elevated histamine levels to include products that were sold directly to consumers. Apparently there was an earlier recall of these products that were sold to institutions or restaurants, but we could not locate it on the FDA recall page.
Elevated histamine levels in seafood can produce an allergic reaction called scombroid fish poisoning. Symptoms of this reaction can include tingling or burning sensations in the mouth, facial swelling, nausea, rash, hives, itchy skin, vomiting, and diarrhea. These symptoms usually begin a few minutes to a few hours after eating fish that contains too much histamine. Most people recover without medical treatment, but some do get sick enough to be hospitalized.

The tuna was sold in Connecticut, Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. All lots with production date of 06/13/2019 and UPC number 815838020638 are recalled. The recalled product is Tuna King  Medallions of 2 to 3 ounces each in a 10 x 1 pound package. The Northern Lot Number on the product is 0058797. This information is on the back of the Tuna King Brand rider card. The fish was imported from Vietnam.

I haven't heard about and recalls except for lettuce.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)
