Who writes these surveys

Sometimes I wonder if the surveys (this one was not taken on FC) are written by illiterate 7 year olds.

I just was asked a question and the choices were:

___ Somewhat agree
___ Strongly Agree
___ Neither agree or disagree
___ Strongly Agree
___ Somewhat agree
___ N/A blah blah blah

I picked neither agree or disagree because my choice would have been somewhat DISAGREE.  SMH

I have also had surveys that the multiple choice options they give do not include a choice that is my answer.  Sometimes like your example, there was no Disagree options.

lol.  If you look close at my options that is what they done. There is NO disagree.  Good way to get the outcome you want.

And there are only 2 genders. You are male or female.  I have seen as many as 7-8 choices.  Once I had to google to see what a couple of them even were. lol

I have seen surveys with a long list of gender identities. But lately I've also seen "What is your biological sex?" with only male/female options. I suppose all the gender variations make it harder to categorize demographics?

Sometimes the surveys can be frustrating, however just keep trying!  It pays off in the end

I have run into a handful of surveys with typos in them that are kind of annoying that they expect me to put in the time to give them valuable data when they didn't take the time to have someone proofread their survey.

But a more relevant example to your experience is when I enter a survey, it remembers some of my demographics from the previous times I have used the site and skips ahead to a question I can't answer. Like one said: You mentioned earlier you have cancer. What type of cancer is it? Well, I don't, I'm not sure why it thought I did and it gives me no option to say that I don't have cancer.

Well when you have 6 "sexes" and then narrow down by area you live in and then by color of hair and eyes and how much you weigh - it looks like it would get confusing.  I would put male/female (the only real choices) and you pick whatever you feel like you are today.  Lot of people lie on the surveys anyway.

It def pays off.  I am not going to quit.  I just get aggravated with how we can be kicked out for something so little or stupid but they write crap like this.  I have another site I work with and do well on and the surveys are horrible. The grammar and spelling makes me wonder if they are not def done by someone in another country.

Exactly.  And I have seen that as well.  Usually if there is a blank space I will put that in.  "I did not tell you I have cancer. I do not have any type of cancer".

Or just pick on and hit continue because you likely will get kicked out after that question and at least you get your 1 cent DQ.

I am glad to read that I am not the only ones who come across surveys like that.  I think always think it's a trick question to see if you are paying attention to the surveys.

Wow, that's a new one. Never saw something like that before. I've seen them ask you to pick a certain option to see if you're paying attention, but never something this ridiculous.

    Who writes these surveys? The marketing company...the sponsoring company.
    It is like: Yes, No or Do not know-answers.
    They want only simple answers...that they will tally when the survey is closed.

I am pretty sure it is a careless mistake kind of like the words spelled incorrectly.

You obviously are just answering by reading the topic question.  Actually go back and READ my first post.
